I am not sure where to put this post, but as Echelon used to be a Boyd property, do you see a lot of activity on the site for the new Resorts World? Construction was supposed to begin a few weeks ago.

They did put up a colorful long fence sign that fronts the property along the strip showing what's to come. There seems to some activity but I would like to see major activity.
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

Some construction equipment is now at the site. But it doesn't get really serious until the cranes are on hand.Quote: pacomartinConstruction was supposed to begin a few weeks ago.

Pretty much, when they roll in the cranes and peripheral support equipment for rigging, that is when it will start.

With the money in Macau slowing down, I wonder if the project is being scaled back? The fence looks great though. Lots of colorful graphics.

According to this article, it's undergoing some design changes and the first phase will open next year. Take that for what it's worth but it makes sense, meaning, there's nothing indicating any problems with financing.

Cranes mean the part that you can see but meaningful construction starts long before cranes arrive ... underground utilities, foundations, site grading, etc. In this case, there's probably some undoing and demolition of those things and some vertical structures as well, all of which cost money.
But yeah, once cranes arrive, that's a good sign. Developers can stop when the sitework is done and still not kill themselves. It's only when the vertical stuff starts that things have to get REALLY bad before stopping.

Mr. Resorts World doesn't consult with me at all and I don't know when this was taken, but the thing I note in it is that there doesn't appear to be much work going on underground. Maybe a few bulldozers are moving dirt from here to there, a common trick to keep a building permit or sitework financing current, although again, I don't know for sure what's going on there specifically.
Unless Resorts World has the exact same footprint and engineering, and the codes have not changed, as Echelon, then I think that's a sign that Resorts World is not planned to at a point that they want to proceed at all. I haven't heard anything on financing troubles, so it could just be planning ... but wow, talk about expensive holding costs!

They have such a wonderful high rolling neighbor though. A property that has seen many many years to the north of them. Not going to be an ez task to pull people away from all there hangouts though.
Every time I look at it, the words 'voodoo' cursed seem to pop out for some strange reason.

Based on nothing but a gut feeling, it just seems like things are moving slowly, keep getting pushed back. I just have this gut feeling the project will stall (or remain stalled). Maybe it's because I moved here in late 2009 so my whole time living in Vegas these northern strip projects have been completely stalled.

Oh, you don't fool around with an Asian company like Genting.
The money making part, the casino will be build first I would say within a few months like they do in Singapore.
Hiring should start anytime now.

Resorts World Las Vegas would likely be the talk of the town very soon.
Expect their single zero roulette game to grab market share.
Experience the new multi terminals electronic table game which even tourist can play with $1 or 2.
Expect the casino to be open as fast as they can build it which could be a matter of months. Other non major revenue facilities would come much later if they follow their Singapore model.
