Thanks.
You got for WOLF for free? You lucky bastard (-;Quote: BTLWII had it on my computer but my HDD crashed. It was free and did simulations. Main downside was it looked like it was from the 90's (and it was I think).
From my understanding, Wolf was always a paid version. I know that when you got the free version of fugal video poker it came with an advertisement for Wolf, you had to close it out to get to Frugal.
I have no idea how good the new versions of VP software are. I didn't own a copy of Wolf but I used it at my friends on occasion. From my experience, it was one of the best around at the time and even well into the 2000's.
Neither Wolf or Frugal are readily available.
Prozema, did you have any success with the information and what I sent you? If not I can probably find a way to get it to you.

It's on my to-do list for Sunday one I get back to my computer. I'm phone only for the next few days on a fall beach vacation with the family.
The link you sent appears to be dead but that doesn't mean I can't find the software elsewhere.
I was reading that there is a bunch of problems and work arounds to get the software to run on a 64 bit machine.
I have never had those problems. It's always been a bit glitchy but nothing serious. It would freeze up sometimes.Quote: prozemaIt's on my to-do list for Sunday one I get back to my computer. I'm phone only for the next few days on a fall beach vacation with the family.

Quote: prozemaCurious... How did you evaluate video poker software options? Both Optimum and VP for winners look like strong contenders. Why did you choose wolf?
I've never actually seen Optimum. I have WinPoker and VPfW and they are both great. I dunno, I just wanted to add Wolf, and I can't say when I got it but it doesn't seem long ago, maybe a few years ago. The high speed sim is much better on Wolf, that was one plus for me.
I also use Linux (Mint) on my main partition and Wolf works great with WINE. I have never been able to do that with VPfW. I would say that now the ONLY reason I keep a small Windows partition is specifically for VPfW and WinPoker. Otherwise Microsoft can go jump in a lake.

I think I know a guy that can coach me on writing a VB script to repeat a sim all night and put each result in a csv. I just need some time to mess with it next week.
You'll be glad to know my jackpot today consisted of about a dozen hermit crabs and a handful of small sand dollars. I'm hoping to double it up after nap time!
I love vacation.

I think when Wolf decided to quit supporting it that he released it for free.

When did he quit supporting it?
Just to be clear, are we all sure he is alive?
And another question. Now that I know what has been said in this thread, what if I want to move it to another computer? Will it still work the way it used to? I mean, I haven't moved it for a long time. I haven't needed to. But if I do, will I mess it up?
Can't you just make a copy of it and see if it works?Quote: bobbartopWhen did he quit supporting it?

I didn't think Frugal was going to work on the newest version of windows, but it did.

I copied the files to another partition, Windows XP, and I get a locked version, with a demo of 7-5 Jacks that will play. No way to activate it. Any ideas? Thanks, Axel.
