I'm playing 50 hand Triple Double Bonus Poker with Quick Quads. I get dealt 10, 10 8, 2, 7. My options are to keep the two 10's and go for quads with the three draw cards or keep the 10's and the 8 and the 2. Then if I get a 10 in my one draw card it counts as quads because the 8 and the 2 equal 10 for the three 10 I have.
The bet is 6 credits per hand, so I'm in for 300 credits. A Four of a Kind pays 260, so I only need two of them out of 50 hands, to profit on the hand.
What should I have done? I held the 10, 10, 8, 2 .

Quote: IbeatyouracesYou hold the pair + "kicker" which in this case is the 8 & 2. You did correct.
After thinking about it, If I held just the 10, 10 I didn't only need two more 10's to get quads. I could have gotten it that way, plus just one more 10, plus another 8, 2 or 7, 3 or 6, 4 or 5, 5.
I definitely didn't think about that at the time. I might have played it differently, which then may have been incorrectly had I thought about that.

You do the same with dealt trips as well. You hold those three (2, 2, 2-10, 10, 10) and any single card below that rank.
Example: 5, 5, 5, 3, 8. You'd hold everything except the 8.
Quote: IbeatyouracesI posted a screenshot of the hand analyzer. It's not even close.
Thanks. Good job by me. :)

Quote: GWAEZcore, this isn't even close and shouldn't be a hard decision. Hopefully your just started to learn this game and haven't thrown a lot of money down the drain. You will encounter tons of hands like 33A2X. You also know in cases like 9996K you would hold the 999 and 6, right?
I've never been a big slot/video poker guy. I've played regular video poker and more recently Ultimate X and Barnyard Poker, but these Super Times Pay, Quick Quads, Spin Poker, Wheel Poker, etc, etc are pretty new for me to be playing.

Seems like every time I walk in to a casino I see a new VP variant.
So if you had 77334...you'd hold 7734 in TDB.
Quote: tringlomanePair and 2 kickers is a pretty strong hand in quick quads. You are supposed to even break two pair if it only pays 5.

Nice. Now I know.
Thanks.

That describes almost all VP.
Love love love Quick Quads. What a great game. If you're going to learn one weird, complicated optimum strategy, Zcore, this is the one. I played it twice in the last week. It was so fun. (ten play db) AND I got Aces! Woohoo. Along with many QQ hands. Sometimes I wonder if they offer extra opportunities, there are so many times you get a QQ 4 to a draw (either trips WAK or a pair plus its components) and fill it.
And, yeah, you got it right not knowing for sure; I think that's commendable. Shows an understanding of the concept, so you'll get it learned faster.

It is a multi-denom...$0.05, $0.25, $0.50 and $1.00
Quote: JustALuckI just found a literature from IGT:
It is a multi-denom...$0.05, $0.25, $0.50 and $1.00
That is true but in my area they are only .25, .40, and 1.00. I wish there was nickle 5 line or .10 3 line.

Damn, y'all got $0.40 denoms?
Crazy thing is at Mohegan sun in ct they have 1/2 cent slots
I only played it a few times and never thought of doing that.

Yes. If dealt 88839, you hold 8883 and dump the 9.
Quote: RSDamn, y'all got $0.40 denoms?
Stupid phone. Wait can I blame that on auto correct? I guess it was fat fingers.
Although I don't see any reason why you couldn't set the denom for anything you want. Maybe in want to play a .36 game. I will play .25 but won't play .50 but would play .36

You also hold 2 kickers when dealt a pair, i.e.: 99367, you hold 9936. Granted, they have to add up to the pair's rank.
Thanks all.
Quote: JustALuckSorry for silly question...what is the common denom for Quick Quads (JoB 9/6)? Is it usually like $0.25, $0.50 and $1.00 in the same machine?
For 9/6 JoB, not common at all. Ellis Island in Vegas has it as cheap as nickels though all the way up to quarters.
River City in St. Louis has it for dollars only.
After that, I dunno another casino that still has 9/6 JoB w/quick quads.

Rivers Pittsburgh had (don't know if it still does) one single line machine of it for $1.00. 25¢ & 50¢ were 9/5 I believe.

Last time I played .25 and .50 were 8/6. Never play 1.00 so I didn't look.
