It seems lately I've been hitting more Quads on Double Bonus more than Dub Dub. Also getting better odds at my home casino 9/7 vs 9/6. Has anyone else had the same experience? It that because Dub Dub has to pay the big bonuses for the Ace kickers 2,3,4?

Thoughts? (Or math analysis from the coke bottle eye glasses on the board)?

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for help after the nerd insult there, HL. Or maybe even any other replies. Just sayin'.

Yeah, I liked that, too. That's why the gratuitous shot at the end was a bit of a jolt.

Everyone has noticed this. It's Murphy's law or something. If you want to hit A,2 or 3's simply play regular JOB, you will hit nothing but premiums all day long. The best way to hit aces.....play DW. If you need a RF, play penny denominations.

The perversity of the Universe tends towards a maximum.

Best way to hit quad deuces is to play JoB.

When comparing 9/7 to 9/6, you need to look at all the rest of the numbers, too.

The best analysts I've encountered do not wear thick glasses.
May the cards fall in your favor.

Is it 9/7/5 DB or 9/7/4 DB? Huge difference in the return, depending on the straight payout. If straight pays 5 on DB, then DB is better than DDB. If the straight pays 4 on DB, then DDB is better, return wise.

I don't feel like figuring out the cycle for 4oaks in DB vs DDB. But, that really doesn't matter -- and ultimately they should be pretty close (I'd imagine) to being the same. Chances are (guessing here) -- you use the same strategy for DB as you do DDB.

PS: The four of a kind frequency is based on the strategy used, not which game it is....since all the games play the same way (excluding deuces wild, joker poker, etc.?), that each card dealt and drawn is random.

Just in case anyone didn't understand this, it was a joke.

HLgrinder, have you actually counted your hands in between 4oak's over at least 15k hands on each of the games, and then compared them?

Psychology it always seems like they are easy to hit on games where the 4oak doesn't really account for much.

I recently played with someone that went about 7 cycles without a 4oak or better on $5 9/6. Nice way to drop over 4k.

Thanks folks, I haven't really kept track of hands between 4oaks, but I have stopped playing DubDub pretty much altogether in higher denoms unless it's a decent value progressive. Just seem to have better luck with DB. I'll have to look at my fav bank of machines to make sure they are 9/7/5 I've just been looking at the Full House/Flush numbers. -HL

Actually I just chked and on DDB, they are set to 9/6/4, DB 9/7/5...

I knew DB was a better value, this confirms it.

Do you play 3-card flushes and inside straights on DB? What about DDB?

Well here's an anomaly. Went to Cherokee last Saturday and put $100 in machine showing new girlfriend how to play Dub Dub. Hit one 4 AWAK and was so excited I mashed the play button before I thought to take a pic. played a few more hands and was telling her about how unusually lucky I was one time at a Dollar machine hitting almost back to back quads for $250 each hit the play button and looked at her and wow hit another one! Being superstitious I might have to keep her around for a while.

dub dub is the better game when you never hold 3 card flushes. And if you mean 2 card straight flush holds by "suited connectors", that's a bad leak.

Here are the optimal strategies, follow the highest hand on the list available:

9/6 DDB:

10/7/5 is what you should be looking for.

Of course the other payouts are going to be lower on DBL DBL you're making up for it on the kicker hands.

You're not playing anything close to correct strategy so be prepared to eventually be a long term loser. No matter what's happening now it's bound to get worst. NTM you're already playing a -EV game, but if you got the money and you're enjoying yourself, have fun.

Two weeks ago buddy of mine hit a rf there by the food court and was scolded by the security guard for trying to take a pic. He hit another this past Friday and was able to snap a pic while the guard was distracted. :)
