Almost exclusively $1 9/6 JOB at the 2 Ohio casinos.Quote: AxiomOfChoiceCan I ask what game you played, mostly, to get to 7-star? I've been thinking of making a run at it, but $1.5M coin-in (at VP) is a lot.

Wow, that's a lot of hands.

I would probably just do it in 10 days in New Orleans on the 10 play $1 NSUD.

Positive or negative?
Quote: AxiomOfChoicePositive or negative?
Great question. i just assumed he meant negative because that is about the number you could do it in NSUD before cashing in your points.
Do any Caesar's properties have anything better than NSUD in dollars or above? I think Tunica used to have some better quarter games.

They used to have 40/10/6 DDB and 99.96% Deuces for quarters. They yanked those in April 2013. :(
Rio has 40/10/6 DDB for 3/5/10-play dollars but it's $50 a point. So NSUD would be almost the same if it's still only $10 a point.
Horseshoe Hammond has 7/5 Bonus w/"Ultimate 4 of a Kind Bonus" for single line dollars. That's 99.96% after the bonus game, and is still $10 a point. Also a variance mess because after any quad you have a 1 in 53 chance at a $3996 payout. This is assuming that didn't recently get yanked/downgraded. Half of the machines were down "for maintenance" when I was there a few weeks ago, including those two units. They also offer 40/10/6 DDB and 99.96% Deuces at $25 a point at the $5 level.
[/hijack]
Maybe babs, Face, Wiz, JB, etc. can split all this off as a Noir/7 Stars thread. It's good discussion, but it definitely doesn't belong here.
Are the $25/pt machines only in Vegas or other locations too? vpfree2 mentions this for all the vegas full pay machines, but doesn't mention anything for the Reno/Tahoe locations, for example. Are the Reno/Tahoe casinos all $10/pt? They still have 99.5%+ games, like 9/6 Jacks and 9/7 TDB.
Quote: AxiomOfChoiceSpeaking of this $10/$25/$50 per point nonsense...

At this point, I assume yes because I'd assume someone at VPFree2 would have probably wrote about it by now. Hammond has had this $25 or $50 a point crap for over a year now. Tunica has always been $10 a point for everything, but their best game is 9/7 DB now so that's not unreasonable. :( I think Rincon (now called Harrah's Southern California) is still all $10/point for everything too and they have my favorite VP variant, 8/5 Bonus w/DSTP.

is that a multiline? $1 denom?

as of a few months ago it was still $10/pt, and maybe once or twice a year they offer multiples.
and ohhh the bounceback and offers they send!!!
Bally's had a 90/9/6 JoB a few months ago, for $1 denom. I'm pretty sure that was on accident because every other machine near by was set to 7/5, IIRC.

Wouldn't that be -$19 in EV (not counting the $400 freeplay you would rack up?)

Was this in Bally's AC or Bally's Las Vegas?

According to VPFree2, the max you can do is 5 lines at the 50c level. So thats $17.50 per "round". Could be worse I guess. One problem with DSTP though from a raw "coin-in" standpoint, I don't think you can "speed up" the multiplier sequences.

I wonder why it was only there for 3 days or so.... actually I know the reason but you guys guess.
if there really is a vp god i'll flop a royal and catch a 20x before the years up! if not i'm afraid i'm going to be stuck with huge un-carryforwardable loss for this tax year.

I always seems to lose just enough each year to offset my taxable wins exactly. Amazing how conveniently that works out...Quote: smokalotti havnt played a lot of stp but i'll def be giving this game some action. thanks a lot for pointing it out.

Quote: supermaxhdIts not 1.5M coin in if you maximize tier credit bonuses. It can be as low as $500,000. $25,000 coin in in a day (6am-6am) gets 2500 tier credits + 5000 tier credit bonus. $50,000 coin in in a day gets 5000 tier credits and 10,000 tier credit bonus. If you maximize the 10,000 tier credit bonus you can do it in 10 days.
Is it worth it to get 7-star if you don't have the ADT to back it up though? I want the offers, not just the card. If their VP machines are set to 2% then $50k in coin-in per day will get you a $1k ADT, which isn't that great.
Any idea what the theo is set to for that 40/10/6 DDB machine at the Rio? Please PM me if you have any info...

HorseShoe Southern Indiana has the Ultimate 4 of a Kind Bonus. I was playing it at $1 credits Saturday while waiting on the BJ tournament. I was playing DDB and it was automatically holding the cards (I cold optionally change them). With it holding the cards I was able to play at light speed. Only it took me about $700 to find a 4 of a kind, then I found the joker for a $3996 bonus on the bonus round and a hand pay jackpot.

They do have some pretty good seven star perks. It was better last year it seems most of the VP machines have been downgraded a lot. Not sure I would try it again.

I played the best returning games with low theo, and still got freeplay/gift card offers. The machine was probably set to a high theo, or it was my 1 day coin-in that sparked a string of offers. Also I have an Asian last name :)
I want to know what is the total amount of cash you get back over the course of putting in 7 star status. If I do the tier bonus I can play $50k a day 10 times. Half a million coin in x house edge on say 9/6 jacks (0.46%). Add the 0.08% 7 star cashback (this is CHINSY btw for the highest tier cashback), and you have $1,900 in expected losses. I can imagine it's not too hard even if you don't play anymore to receive more then $1,900 back in forms of freeplay or cash.
As DRich explained you can play NSUD as well. This + 0.08% (7 star cashback) would = $950 in expected losses. Even if you fly out to the casino you'd save money. This is of course if you are strictly out for value without considering time spent, as well as being 10 days away from home.
Overall the numbers show it is worth playing for 7 Star, if you want the treatment, as well as the status, if you have the bankroll. I would just hate to have hosts coming up to me everytime I stuck my card in though however..... most places do that for high tier members.
Quote: AxiomOfChoicelol, I would love for hosts to come talk to me every time I put my card in. Just ask them for stuff every time they come by.
Amazing how fast the host can show up after putting a card in, especially in the high limit room. When my host shows up to ask if I need something I usually decline. When I do want something like tickets or food I email them in advance.

If I'm losing I want them to come by so I can ask for stuff. If I'm winning I don't want to see them at all.
Also if you AP trust me you don't want to see a host unless you want to.

Do you want anything?
Freeplay.
I can't give you freeplay.
Ok, thanks anyway.
I'd think that after enough of these exchanges they will just stop coming by. Or, better yet, start giving you freeplay.
