Worst case scenario question. What's the EV on a quarter machine on a 96% payout 10 hand game if just one of the hands has 2x multiplier?

Sorry if this specific question was answered in a previous thread. If so I'll delete.

105.6% if I did it right.

There is an easy way to make this calculation. You have 9 lines that pay 1X and one line that pays 2X. Nine plius 2 is 11. Multiply 96% by 11 then divide by 10 to get 105.6%.

This works with multiple multipliers too. If you have a 2x and a 3X then 8 lines pay 1X, one line pays 2X, one line pays 3X. Eight plus 2 plus 3 is 13. Multiply 96% by 13 then divide by 10 to get 124.8%.

Oh wow, how easy! Didn't even think about it like that.

So say you've found a $1 denom, 10 line game with a 3x next hand multiplier on a 96% base return game. You would do (12*0.96)/10 = 115%

If I understand this correctly, the return is 115% of your wager. With 10 lines at $1 denom, you'd be playing $50 for the spin. With a 115% return, you're expecting to get $57.50 back, or in other words, your EV is $7.50?

You got it all right, RS.

New question:
Last few days I, and another vulture friend, noticed that some machines are no longer displaying the last hand (used) multipliers. Anyone else notice this? Has there been a software update issued to remove these recently?

Good, hopefully they all behave the same way, nice time-saver.

How is it a time saver? You still have to check all the games for a next-hand mult.

Yeah, but there is a slight visual adjustment when you are looking at a ten-handed game where the previous game was played with a bunch of multipliers and you're trying to look for next hand ones. At least, for me, there is. Everything gets a little blurry. With the ones that don't show previous hand multipliers, if you see yellow, you know you're good!
