Quote: sammydvEveryone is speaking in the past tense with vulturing, but not what creates the vulturing event itself. I don't know what to look for on the actual machines in the wild. How does one know theres multiplyiers available...?
JB posted in the Vulturing 'Ultimate X' thread (page 24, on November 29th, 2014) photos that shows what to look for. As has been said, look for a "next hand" multiplier. To be thorough, you'll need to look at every game at every denomination.
Quote: tringlomaneYou have to find an empty machine that says "Next Hand 2X", "Next Hand 3X", etc. next to one or more of the hands.
Thanks, that's what I'm asking. Also saw the next post answer and will be checking out the thread.
Not very lucrative ? How long did it take? $60 in practically free money for 1 place while "gambling". I'm not sure what you were expecting. I'm not sure if you ran good or bad (You probably ran good).Quote: GaryJKoehlerToday went on the Victory Cruise out of Cape Canaveral. Vultured every machine except 6. Three were occupied the entire time. Three I didn't notice till after we re-entered FL waters. Made a wopping $60. Mainly 5 and 10 cent machines. Virgin territory, but not very lucrative.
Other than vulturing, the best machine (2) was a 9-5 Jacks and a progressive Dbl Dbl Bonus.
I don't look for them very often, just if I happen to be near a bank i'll poke a few, or if I'm board waiting for someone, but from what I have seen I can't imagine there's much money in it, especially in Vegas.

You need 2 things to make it worthwhile:
1) A location with many machines.
2) A bunch of regular players that regularly leave multipliers.
Tourist areas aren't that lucrative.
Wish I had known you were going, I'd have had you you check the Min/Max spreads on the BJ tables.
Doc's headed that way, I'll send him a note.
Note to self, send note to Doc.
Don't lose 1st note.
That's a second note.
I just need to get organized......
3) little or no competition.Quote: IbeatyouracesYou need 2 things to make it worthwhile:

I find it hard to believe anyone is finding $150 a day in value on average over a course on a month.
I'm sure people get lucky and find it occasionally.

There were about 20 machines with UX, most had only 5 and 10 cent denominations. 5 cent play had about 8-10 games to check. A few machines had 25 cents, with 3-4 games as I recall. So vulturing didn't take long. There was about one or two opportunities per machine. The highest multiplier was an 8 (of, course, I didn't hit that one). Most were 2 or 3.
I really had no expectations. And yes, $60 was free money. No complaints. It is hard to make much more on such low denomination machines. My outcomes were okay, not horrible, not great.

were these the machines where you can hit buttons to move to the next game?
or you gota do it manually by touching the screen?
ie:
touch the screen to go back to the main menu, then touch the screen again to select the next game :(
seems like the casinos in Pennsylvania have the latter type. (Harrahs chester, parx, sugarhouse)

#2 and #3 are most important. IF I had zero competition and spent the full day looking, I could probably find $150 of value most days. Last time at my local I had about $50 of value in an hour because one guy left a 2X and 3X at the $2 level and no one else was looking at the time. Pretty rare to find those left behind. Did I win those, of course not. :(

I would be happy with $60 if most multipliers there were nickels/dimes and you only found 1-2 per machine on average.
I keep hearing this however I'm skeptical it could be sustained.Quote: IbeatyouracesThere are locations where $100-$200 a day average is quite possible.
Would love to see it. Oh and how many hours would that entail and are we talking sweating people and trying to smoke them out?
I have talked to a few hustlers who said they have traveled searching for a good location with little success they claim to be scraping $60 a day.
I have an in-law looking for something to do. He can't seem to get a normal job it's been many months and he doesn't work well with others telling him what to do.

I still think it could be done but it would be a lot of hours, a lot of walking, and staggered hours. It would be too much work for the $12.50 an hour that I think it would average out to be.
Many X-factors, cherry pies, etc.,etc.
