Quote: sammydvI had always thought casino's didn't allow pictures of their machines. Or at least, I assumed that and never gave it much thought as I didn't feel a need to take a pic until being on this website.
Can you openly take a phone pic standing at a machine?
I've never had any issue taking pics or video for 10-20seconds of a jackpot win in any las vegas casino.
Quote: tringlomaneFirst time I've hit this hand. I still hate this game Mission146. :P. Just like my gf still hating deuces after vulturing nickel deuces. Haha
If you hate this, you'll love JW2. Pretty complex, but fun, imo.
By the way, congrats on your first Quint.
I used to play something called "Bonus Poker" that was really not, it was like JW2 but on a manufacturer that was Indian Casino specific. The "bonus" was a separate jackpot for quad Aces, with a 10% meter if I remember, individual to each machine, even if the bank was otherwise linked. Then there were three jackpots, #1 being quints and it reset at $1000 for a $2 bet. I would search for the Aces to make it a positive play, and I can't count the times I hit quints on the way toward the Aces, maybe an 1-1/2 hour play, and cracking four figures is always a good way to start the morning.
Too bad Suncoast torched their JW2. Great game, and who the hell can play it correctly anyway?

JW2/AC Joker is when I cheat on my phone. Those games were made by the devil himself. It's sorta unfortunate I vultured that quint at that casino. I would rather have saved it for the bartop. It has AC Joker Poker plus progressive royal that starts at $1000 which sometimes gets positive (not today). Quints would have been $1000 on that as well.
Also, first time I have hit 4 natural Jacks since Feb. 2016 at Planet Hollywood. Now the quad I haven't hit in the longest...Aces, of course (Sept. 21st).

Oh yeah, AC Joker, I forgot about that. I was thinking of the other kind of JW2, the 99.92 kind.
lol You write down stuff like your last natural quad Jacks? That would drive me nuts. I mean, more nuts. Sounds like you should not play 4-of-a-kind bingo on 'Gambler's Bonus'.
Anyway, congrats on your vulture.

Since I got a smartphone, I have kept track of all natural quads or better with pictures.. These Jacks are the longest drought of anything, iirc. 82 quads inbetween them. So filling it might have sucked. The one and only time I played at a bar that used Gambler's Bonus, I got a quad in less than 100 hands... ;)

LOL!
Nice hit! If it makes you feel better, I mainly play, 'Ugly Ducks,' now, it's almost half a percent better than the best Jokers game available to me where I play the most VP.
I played a little Spanish 21, the deck hit me upside the head, I felt lucky. So I cashed out and started to make my Ult-X vulture rounds, the bars closed after 2:00 a.m., it's Saturday, Drunk Night, and they've left. Which is good because it's a good time to go vulturing.
I pick up a few bucks, not much, and come upon a machine that has keno showing. I touch the screen and it doesn't budge. Then I notice there are 16 credits in it. Well, I know how that goes with IGT Keno, you ain't getting out of that screen until you make a full bet and play a hand. So I stick a hundred dollar voucher in it, it's 16 nickels, I figure I need to add 4 nickels, 20 cents. Usually I would never mess with a machine that has credits. But for some reason I was a bad boy tonight and silver-mined a machine where some poor drunk had played his last 16 nickels and didn't even get to play. Suddenly I realize it's one of those 4-play keno games, so I need to fork out 80 cents, not 20, I think. That sh*t confuses me. I pick seven numbers, the start button turns yellow, I press it. The machine locks up, call attendant, and I see the credits are 32000 and something. I don't even know how much 32000 nickels is, until the screen says call attendant - $1600. Well, how sweet it is Jackie Gleason!
So, I'm a little worried. I never put my card in, and had not intended to, I was vulturing. But what if the drunk who played his last 64 nickels had used his card? I get ready with my story. I walked up, put my voucher in, and pressed max bet. That's all I know, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. For $1600 they can bar me. I ain't walking out of there without that $1600. They can take me to the back room and beat my ass, I'm taking that $1600. They can taze me, mace me, waterboard me, I'm not leaving without the $1600.
Anyway, the girl comes over, sweet as pie, no guards, takes my ID, pays me, I tip her, good night Irene.
The End.
(naturally I did not pull out my camera phone, or do any more Ult-X vulturing) Tomorrow's another day.
That's sick, great hit!
Quote: sammydvWhat does 'Ugly Ducks,' look like? Is there a link to a pic anywhere?
"Ugly Ducks,' is just a Deuces Wild variant that returns 98.91% absent any other game features.
Natural Royal: 800
Four Deuces: 200
Wild Royal: 25
5OaK: 15
Straight Flush: 9
4OaK: 4
Full House: 4
Flush: 3
Straight: 2
3OaK: 1
It ain't that bad. I'd think "ugly ducks" to be the version where 5oak pays 12 and RF pays 20.
Quote: Mission146The WoO site refers to the paytable I posted as, 'Ugly Ducks,' so that's what I call it. I understand it is also called Illinois/Airport Deuces, as well.
I've heard it different ways, "ugly ducks" referring to more than just 15-9. So I usually call it pNSU, or pseudo Not-So-Ugly, from Bob Dancer's work. Works pretty good for me. The games play pretty much alike.
From this 2009 article... players had gotten into the habit of calling low-paying Deuces games "Ugly Ducks"Quote: bobbartopI've heard it different ways, "ugly ducks" referring to more than just 15-9. I personally don't know the history of VP, and only starting playing seriously recently, so maybe some old-timers can comment...
WoV website calls 15-9 "Ugly Ducks", but I don't think it's historically correct.
15-11 Almost Positive
16-10 Not So Ugly (NSUD)
15-9 Pseudo Not So Ugly (pNSUD), Airport/Illinois. Called Airport Deuces for its availability at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas, this game was nicknamed "Illinois Deuces" by the late video poker guru Lenny Frome. Though it first appeared in Nevada, its appearance excited players at the Par-A-Dice Casino in East Peoria, Ill., where it was the highest-paying game available in the early 1990s.
--- Possibly everything below this line was "Ugly Ducks" ... or maybe "Ugly Ducks" included pNSUD? ----
20-12-10 Fooler Deuces
20-12-9
25-16-13-FH3 Colorado. Every time a new gaming market has opened, casinos have used Deuces Wild pay tables that were lower than those common in Nevada. In Colorado, this version was as good as it got when casinos opened in the 1990s.

From what I can find, it sounds like the term "Ugly Ducks" still included Airport/Illinois because a lot of deuces games in the 80s and 90's were "full pay". Also NSUD actually came after Airport/Illinois.
I use Airport myself. With today's gaming conditions, that paytable is far from "Ugly".
Bally's Las Vegas August 2015. Worst VP paytable I've seen in a US casino, 91.42%. Now that's "Butt Ugly".
Thanks for your comments about "ugly ducks".
Quote: RomesNow that's a nice little vulture to leave the casino with =D. Perfect amount too...
Thank you, Romes. It was like the coffee that I no longer drink. It DID wake me up. Caffeine free too.

Yep, hits like that will wake you up for sure. Nice one! Still quadless on the dollar level. :( Not sure I have reached the 50% likely threshold yet though for that. Dollar chances are pretty sporadic in the areas I look. Tunica doesn't even offer anything above quarters for example. :(
Quote: BTLWITonight a machine had a full screen of multipliers, meanwhile the machine next to me had 2 spots with multipliers. This guy I always see walking around but never playing anything sits down and vultures it. The multipliers were on the bottom two spots so he only played those two lines at 1 credit per line. Enjoy your edge on $.10 sir!!! Now I know exactly why I get to some machines and every game is played off at 1 credit per line.
There should be a test before you can VUX. If you're not smart enough to realize you want to wager max payline coins when you have a multiplier, you shouldn't be allowed to VUX. Do you want an edge on $.25 or $.05 + a royal penalty? LOL
I know this is an old post but I don’t quite understand.
It seems like the game now removes all bonuses if you change the coin in?
I had been on a long hiatus from casinos until recently so I may be remembering this wrong, unless something changed.
Anytime I sit down at a machine with accumulated bonuses they seem to disappear if I touch anything.
If there are three hands, multipliers on the first two, by betting only two coins(1 on first hand, 1 on second hand), they are playing off the multipliers for max ev, but not max value. It's disgusting to see the multipliers wasted. For example, if hand 1 had a next hand multiplier of 2, hand 2 a next hand multiplier of 2, this person would only win 200 coins for a dealt royal, but someone betting 3x5, would win 20,000 coins because they're betting 5 coins a hand to get the royal bonus.Quote: gamerfreakI know this is an old post but I don’t quite understand.

Quote: onenickelmiracle$10 denomination, ten handed, 24* in multipliers, ddb, I lose $250 on a $500 bet. Nooooo. If I didn't want the play, I wouldn't have looked for it.
The next time I returned to this same machine, someone had found about the same exact set-up, but whomever they were only bet 1 coin, $10. They wasted about $700 in value by betting 1 coin for $10 in value. They probably couldn't afford to bet $500 on one hand, but in my mind, they shouldn't have even taken it.
This happens on ALL denominations be ALL kinds of idiots throwing money out the window. Most of the time it's not even because they can't afford it but because they don't understand it, nor the potential.Quote: onenickelmiracle...The next time I returned to this same machine, someone had found about the same exact set-up, but whomever they were only bet 1 coin, $10. Sometimes it's not even that. Sometimes it is someone who was playing the game and only has a few credits left. They just lost a bunch so they aren't putting more money in.
Last night I noticed some unplayed multipliers on nickel 10 handed UX on the machine beside me. I put money in and was dealt four to the royal and connected on one of the hands with a multiplier for my best vulture ever. $800 royal for a $2.50 bet.
