Do you mean: Selfish hoggers force casino to downgrade the machine so that others can play it too.
Back then, there was a bank of 100-plays near Steak n Shake in the new part of the casino with lower foot traffic, and slightly less toxic air. But the machines were downgraded, and later removed.

I doubt that the casino cares who plays the machines as long as they get played. More likely, they are thinking that they are really popular and maybe they would remain popular even with a downgraded pay scale thus boosting casino profits.

I could be wrong, but I expect popularity to go down a lot now. The old machine was reasonably +EV on double points days.
Also about videopoker.com telling people how much in quarters they would have won after contests, but the machines aren't offered anywhere with those pay tables, so far as I'm told.
Quote: onenickelmiracleThis always puzzled me about the VP world. Machines which allow $12 per hour get pulled, but machines which allow $100 per hour still there. They know exactly who is taking their money, but no action. I guess they're waiting for dementia to kick in to get it back.

allow $100/hr? You mean in profit? Positive games by themselves never offer high denomination VP if the game itself is positive (except when they screw up obviously).
As for videopoker.com, yeah, it's rare to find a game as good as their best offerings. But 9/6 JoB w/STP does exist in Vegas and Indiana.
