Aaron, just wondering, did they post this somewhere or did you hear about it? I am asking because I was wondering at what level do they promote something like that. It is a big win, but obviously it is a big bettor playing that much. And they usually like to stay under the radar.

Sorry for the fake news. I made this up and was not thinking that anyone would take my story as being legit. I intended it to be a joke. But I am 100% sure this has been done before! When you walk out of a casino with more wins in your pocket than the photos on the wall, it's kinda neat no matter how you won it. But I respect a big percentage win more than a big dollar win as I'm more into the "gaming" aspect myself than the benefit of having the money accessible.

I often buy-in for $20 to $50 and go for triple or quadruple or more just because it's more challenging and more fun.

Man, if anyone else did that in the craps section, you'd be all over them like a bad rash, complaining about their lack of intelligence in the post, and complaining they were adding nothing to the debate.

-You- may not be interested in a big VP win. Other people are.

Not sure if I am an idiot for believing you or not. But I could see you knowing about players like that. I do respect your knowledge, along with Alan of what is happening at the tables in town. Keeping it factual only helps your case and adds to your credibility.

Anyone know the pay schedule for that game on that machine?

It's probably 7/5 Super Double Double Bonus (98.61%) as 8/5 SDDB should be in the VPFree list (99.69%). But never know with CET, it could be 6/5 SDDB (97.69%). If I get to the Rio on my trip, I'll try to find it real quick.

Super DDB is like DDB but four faces with face kicker gets 160 vs. usual 50, and four aces with face gets 320 vs. usual 160.

He "only" won 400 times his bet.

This thread reminded me of a large payout on a slot machine I witnessed a couple of years ago. Not being a slot player, this occasion made an impression on me!

I had just colored up at craps in the high limit room at my favorite casino and happened to look over a see a guy I knew--Elmer--playing at a $100 slot machine. (I only knew Elmer from a couple of casino events we both had been invited to.) He was playing max credits which was 2--so he was betting $200 each time. Within less than a minute as I watched, Elmer hit the jackpot for 800 times his bet--paying $160,000.

I later discovered this particular slot machine was the highest denomination in the casino at the time and the largest non-progressive payout.

Elmer seemed very calm and did not make a scene. (I would have created a scene by soiling my shorts!) No one else was close to him and so no one even noticed the win. I congratulated him and I remarked as to how relaxed and cool he was. I then asked if this was the largest jackpot he had won. He answered in an almost casual or nonchalant manner, "no, I've won a number of larger payouts."

I guess when you play for $200 a hand at slots, that can happen!

No you're not an idiot for believing me. You can be sure someone has done this though. Even though I didn't receive word on this story, it's absolutely something that has happened!

I have heard a story from someone else of a person who made a $20,000 field bet that paid triple at Caesar's. But that's just hearsay and I can't even remember who told me that story.

If you ask dealers, they will tell you stories of people winning bets like these. On Super Bowl weekend, I saw a table at the Wynn dump a quarter million. Half the table was reserved, and the other half was $100 minimum. Every shooter was hot until me while I waited to bet until I shot. Everyone colored up before I got the dice and I PSO'd and lost $220 in two rolls. Comeout roll $100 passline, rolled a 9. Place the 8 for 120, roll a seven and done. I was waiting to play with a $200 buy-in while the table was dumping as every random shooter was luckier than sin while the yellow chips were flowing like crazy. I pulled another $20 out of my pocket after the comeout roll. When I bought in for $200, the boxman says, "you know this is a $100 table...."

Of course I thought only betting on my roll at a $100 table was the smart thing to do, and I got owned!
