Thanks in advance!
Quote: HorseJeffInterested in best LOCAL bars (corner pub, tavern, dive, hole in the wall, etc) in Vegas that have full pay machines. My particular interest is JoB 9/6 and DDB. Do they exist?
Thanks in advance!
In general, no they don't exist. If you find a full pay game in a bar it is probably a mistake. Most bars set their pay schedules between 95% and 97% on video poker.
For eight to ten years there was some great Deuces Bonus games available at a little over 100% that you could play up to $50 a hand. Many people were very sad to see those depart.
Last week a good play the The Greens ended when they caught their mistake. They had five coin DBL DBL games on the same progressive with ten coin games. In other words all four of the progressives paid double on the five coin machines. I believe it was about 107% play.
Ain't that always the way.Quote: DRichLast week a good play the The Greens ended when they caught their mistake.
Just west of the Palms. Dive Bar with good beer list and good local music offerings. Cheap Mexican food from next door.
Saturday Nights 7:00pm VP Tournament advertized as Free Play and Free Money.
a big bar, it is close to the strip, and I think the drinks
are cheap, including micro-brews they make there.
But I don't know the price, 'cuz mine are a buck
per drink tipping to the waitress.
I like to play the 99.7 % dueces wild, there are
a couple right outside of the karaoke lounge.

I totally agree with this. I am bit disappointed that I didn't make it there this last trip, but the g/f doesn't really care to walk the sketchy block from the Strip to Koval at night, doh!
They also have 99.65% Quick Quads (QQ) for Double Double Bonus at 18 nickels per 3 hands as well as 99.61% JoB w/QQ.
I found a machine at a downtown casino bar paying out 102-103%, but it was a mistake. I came back later and they had corrected the paytable.
The off-strip restaurant/VP bars generally have poor paytables as a rule.

The best games are 99.7 ugly ducks in single line and 99.5 Jacks or better in ten-play. Numerous multi-point days at times makes this a reunion for some of the all-time great video poker players, such as but not limited to the likes of Jean Scott and husband, Eddie Green, Fishhead, Rob the Bull, Brian, and Javier.
Welcome back. I always enjoyed your posts. But where have you been for the past two years? Working a play in Namibia?Quote: JIMMYFOCKERThis is a casino, not a bar perse.

The multi-point days at Gold Coast are also always a pro convention. You can usually always see Brad (Jean's husband) and/or Jean there, among other pros whose names I don't know.
Lost login information and also ended long running feud with The Wizard involving comps, all is good now.Quote: teddysWelcome back. I always enjoyed your posts. But where have you been for the past two years? Working a play in Namibia?

I'm sure there are, though I doubt it would really be worth running all over town on their various special afternoons and nights. People adopt some of these bars as "their regulars" and they become social hangouts or perhaps VP with really comfortable seats and well known waitresses. Sure some offer opportunities on multiplier nights or something if its really a singles bar with good food and good gaming, I'll let the regulars have their bargains.Quote: JIMMYFOCKERThere are numerous bars that are +EV in the valley during certain promotional hours.
What is the math less cost of gasoline and drinks/meals at a Burger,Beer, and VP Singles Bar on a Specials Night less than on a regular old night?Quote: JIMMYFOCKERFlea, would take these a little more seriously.
Many provide a huge +EV hourly on paper, a couple pros made six figures in bars in 2012.Quote: FleaStiffWhat is the math less cost of gasoline and drinks/meals at a Burger,Beer, and VP Singles Bar on a Specials Night less than on a regular old night?

Jimmy I'm surprised you consider Jean Scott one of the greats . I don't remember seeing her on any great plays or doing anything other then a few small time well published promotions and point multiplier days. God bless her She is a good writer and From what I have heard she IS on the players side.Quote: JIMMYFOCKERThis is a casino, not a bar perse.

No but I'll be going there now. I like bar VP specials because there are more likely to mess up a promo in the player's favor then casinos. I don't drink alcohol though so it might be -EV for me lol

I enjoy their free cigarettes for coin-in. Well I buy them cheap from someone who can't get rid of these things :)
I also like their food coupons. Hopefully I'll get bumped up to free food after my mailers.

EI gives you free cigarettes as part of your play? Seriously?
It's ok because I believe he is giving up his insurance because it's -EV at 20 bucks a month, so no worries. He gets plenty of exercise walking through casinos on his way to the buffet. His hand eye coordination it improving with all the VP he's playing. I bet he can smoke and play with one hand, talk on his cell, all while giving VP tips to the guy who is sitting next to his machine and hitting on him.Quote: tringlomaneEI gives you free cigarettes as part of your play? Axel you are a cheeky bastard :)
But yeah they give cigarette coupons for running through some coin.
Legal warning: Cigarettes are bad for you.
Quote: MidwestAPAlthough it's not a 'local's bar', a great place to play 9/6 JoB is at the bar at Main Street Station. And the beer they brew is outstanding!
Agreed, they also have a fun scratch off for all four of a kind.

I'm just shocked that a casino offers this. Do other Vegas casinos do this too?

EDIT - I just read a review for Bar 702 from a guy that was there on July 31, 2013 and the paytable has been lowered. No more full pay. No reason to go to Bar 702 an longer.

Casinos will usually comp tobacco to players betting $25 or more. Players in the top players club tier may also receive this as a benefit. For example, Station Casinos gives its Chairman players one free pack per day.

Call a slot attendant and present them with your chairman card.
I kina figured this was to good to be true.....ok my truth is a bit different because it is mostly true however 98% or more of players are not eligible, you must live within a particular zip code that's close to that location and be a new member of the terrible herbs crappy system. No location included mine my GF's or a friends location or anyone I could think of. They did have a promotion where you lose $100 and get $20 for all new members. That didn't seem good on the -4% video poker. I'm sure they had something better however i didn't want to wast time trying to figured out all the oddball games and bad pay tables.Quote: JIMMYFOCKERT-bird lounges

My boyfriend and I recently on our last trip find out that we can use our comps from bunions to buy cigars, we used to go outside and buy from the guy on Fremont at the kiosks but not anymore ;) ...
Not true at all, I've taken over 15 to T-birds for this promo, some out of state.Quote: AxelWolfI kina figured this was to good to be true.....ok my truth is a bit different because it is mostly true however 98% or more of players are not eligible, you must live within a particular zip code that's close to that location and be a new member of the terrible herbs crappy system. Put at least 60,000 through in a 6 month period, minimum, anything thing less is a waste of time and effort, and do even more if you wish to attain more lucrative offers.
