This is not recent because I needed some distance from the event. This is a trip gone sour.
There needs some background laid out to begin.
I ran into a female acquaintance I hadn't seen in a decade. She was a stunning beauty and still looked like she was a teenager even though we had known each other for two decades. When I had first been introduced to her through a mutual friend she was twenty and I was forty. We met a few times at get togethers and my one or two advances had been politely rejected. To a 20 year old, 40 is ancient. I understood.
As I said, we grew distant over a decade ago so it was a pleasure when we just ran into each other and I noted something was clearly different. She was now closing in on forty while I was headed to sixty and she had a kid. The conversation had enough hints that I saw she was more open to dating. She practically brought it up herself, reminiscing about old times including my romantic interest in her. And as I noted, she still looked nearly the same.
We ended three weeks later making a first date weekend of it. We were old friends if not old lovers so none of the first time jitters were present.
I had free rooms at a casino I periodically multi-carded at so I suggested we go there. For obvious reasons I won't name the place.
I suggested we take a bus but she laughed and said she does not do public transportation. She owned a Mercedes and would do the driving. What a difference twenty years make.
We arrived at the casino and I checked in. Once settled she said she wanted to try gambling. It was not something she had ever done so I took her downstairs and was interested to see if the old beginners luck theory would hold out.
Sure enough it did. Within half an hour she had won over $600 at the tables playing with my directions at Craps, Pai Gow, and a little Blackjack. Just enough to wet her beak and the night was going wonderful.
And then came the left turn. Literally out of nowhere.
She said she wanted to hang at the bar. Since we were staying for two nights, she wanted to get tipsy (she said she never gets drunk) as she wasn't driving.
When we arrived at the bar, it was nearly empty. It was late and a weekday. We hailed down the bartender when suddenly a man came up to us distraught and said he left fifty bucks in the bar top Poker machine. I looked down and saw the machine we were at had zero dollars. "There's nothing here now," I pointed out.
Suddenly from the left came a shrill voice of the only other patron at the bar. An older woman who started yelling, "They took it. That man and his girl. I witnessed it. They came right up and printed the ticket just a moment ago."
Yeah, like I said, the night had just taken a left turn.
The bartender had arrived at this point as a heated bit of shouting had caught his attention. I calmly asked him to call surveillance and have them check the tapes. I knew of course that neither I nor my date had taken the money. Never had I wanted surveillance to have followed me around so much. And I couldn't help but recognize the irony. I did AP at that spot all the time and on the one night I was not doing anything, I was facing a possible eviction.
Soon security had separated us from the other woman and the man to get everyones story. And when the security guard stepped back to take a message from his walkie talkie, he came back and said, "it's been verified you did not take the man's money. I don't know why the woman is so insistent she saw you."
"Thanks," I replied, vindicated.
"I need to see your ID's" the guard said to both of us.
My AP radar raised it's nuclear bomb shields. "You just said it's verified we didn't take the guys money"
"It's for age verification. She looks under 21."
I couldn't argue with that. She knew she looked good and flaunted it. She was dressed in a super sexy outfit that really left nothing to the imagination. I told her to go ahead. After all, she wasn't part of my crew or anything.
After taking her info down, the guard said to me, "I need to see your ID as well."
Now my AP radar shields had just been penetrated like a nuclear bomb. I had grey hair and was closing in on sixty. "Now you don't think I look like I am under 21."
"Management wants to get your ID."
Still, I actually hadn't done anything. And anyway, the casino had my ID from when I checked in.
After taking our info, the guard left us and we went back to the bar and stayed for about an hour, my female friend enjoying her drinks. The incident was, of course, the talk of the few people who were now in the bar. The bartender, who had defused the situation and kept saying they had notified him we hadn't taken the money as well said, "Nonetheless, they still got you under surveillance." I didn't reply. It was said in an offhand way and he probably could get in trouble for letting us know. It was something I had already assumed myself.
Later we went to our room and the night was wonderful. No details given there (although I am certain you guys would love to hear them).
And yet, the night was now about to make a radical wider left turn.
I was expended but my younger friend wanted to still enjoy the night. I gave her a hundred bucks for the slots, the room key and went to sleep.
Some time later she returned to report she had lost it all. I laughed. It was to be expected. She wanted a second thwak at it so I said sure. I would come down with her as I wanted a late night snack. Once downstairs she said she was gonna get yet another drink from the same bar. I said I would meet her there after visiting the overnight snack and sundries place.
When I returned to the bar it was to find her surrounded by security. It was past 4 am and the bar was empty except for her. What the hell could she have done?
I walked up and asked what was going on, identifying myself to these new guards as this person's date.
They notified me she was being evicted for unauthorized access to the hotel area of the casino. She was not a registered guest and was accessing the rooms without authorization.
I was dumbfounded. "She's with me. I gave her my key. She's my girlfriend."
"Management says she's evicted." The guard then turned to her and asked how she intended to leave.
"I'm not leaving without my car," she replied.
"We will walk you to it."
"I can't drive. I'm like, a bit impaired right now."
"Not our problem. If you can't drive we will impound the car."
Not only were they going to force her into committing a crime of drunk driving, but I had to assume they would have made an oh so friendly call to local PD to alert them to a suspected drunk driver who had just driven off their property. What's so bad about compounding their harrassment with a drunk driving conviction?
But it didn't get that far. I quickly asked to speak to a security manager.
It took about fifteen minutes. When they arrived and confirmed the reason for the eviction, I said I could just add this friend of mine to the room. The hotel lobby was always manned. What's the big deal?"
The security manager said she would not be evicted if I did that. So we all walked over to the hotel lobby where I added her name to the room. The security manager piped in to the desk clerk to add the name only with proper ID from my friend. I had given her real name, of course. Again, another trap the casino had thought they had me in.
Upstairs, my friend was slumped in the bed, trying to understand what had just happened. I explained, "They see a provocatively dressed woman who looks under-age with a grey-haired man close to sixty at the bar. After being exonerated of theft, they assumed we must be doing something cause innocent people never get accused and this thinking had them follow us around looking for some excuse to get rid of you.
"Then they saw you come up to my room for about an hour and return without me to the bar. They assumed I was a trick and our business concluded, you were back to work for another client. But no trick in the world is gonna put a hooker he just met at the bar officially on his room reservation so once I did that they figured maybe you weren't a whore after all."
She didn't cry but I could see the emotions held back. If she had been that 20 year old I first met, the tears would have come. "I don't want to stay here any longer," she spoke softly without wavering.
We were about to leave but she felt she still wasn't ready to drive. So we slept a few hours and left in the AM, a day earlier than expected.
Just one more story to tell and one more reason why I have absolutely no qualms about hitting casinos with my multi-carding.

Might your "date" have a reputation that preceded her to the casino? IF they ran her ID and something came up in her background, it would explain their behavior.
In 1995, security at The Taj responded to my room due to noise complaints, and I was shocked when a Taj employee told my friend that he was in danger of violating his probation. I didn't think a casino employee would be able to see if a client was on probation, but they did.
Then again, perhaps it was your reputation as the most feared AP on the EC that led them to take action to remove you or throw you off your game.
