It was one of my favorite shows, but when I tried to rewatch it , it's amazing how snail like the plot progresses. A long weekend showed me why they set the show there. A few blocks from the very touristy Old Town, I encountered hundreds of living zombie meth heads.

It's refreshing to hear legitimate, truthfully told down to earth stories we can trust as true.
In my experience, you have been a level-headed, smart truthful trustworthy person, and man of his word.

If you're eating a lot of meals in restaurants you might want to cut back. Lots of stuff can be hidden in those meals you won't even notice except the bad cumulative effects. You can make the same meal yourself but know it's not overloaded with too much crap.

I feel for you. I have been on blood pressure meds for over 20 years. I think I have been on every one. Most of them did not work very well for me until I got on Lisinopril. I was on that for about 7 years and it lowered my pressures by about 20 which was better than the others but I was still in the 180/110 range. About two years ago I was sent to the Emergency Room being told I was having a stroke. My BP was 252/153. Fortunately, I did not have a stroke and they put me on a heavy duty BP medicine which is working miracles for me. I am on a med called Nifedipine 90mg and my BP is now around 130/85. The unfortunate side effect is that my gums are infected and rotting and I am starting to lose teeth.

That sucks, but teeth are replaceable these days. Dental health can usually be solved by throwing money at it, while medical conditions aren't so easy to solve.

Visited the National Park service museum across from Little Rock Central High School. Largest high school in the country when it was built. Magnificent building
Learned about the Little Rock 9
There were actually 200 black students ready to go
Strict entry requirements were made and only 10 made the cut. One set of parents learned what their daughter was about to be put through and said no way
Down to 9
These kids were constantly baited and harassed
One student couldn't take the baiting and fought back
She was expelled for defending herself
Students passed around the below card
Here is the t-shirt on sale at the park service and that card in the museum
Baiting is a terrible thing to do
Baiting was discussed in detail on the Park tour I took

I am a little late in responding to these posts; old people go figure.
My BP systolic range is around 130 -160, but my diastolic numbers stay in the 64-78 range all controlled by meds. My heart rate is a healthy mid 50's -- no meds here. Not too bad, I must report.

Rocking Bertha opened the 2nd set. Next up, Europe 72. This is the album that really got me into the GD and the 2nd set was filled with Europe 72 material. Jack Straw from the 72 album was great. It remains such a powerful song today and actually more powerful. The great 72 combo China>Rider pair next. The transition from China to Rider is such a magnificent jam. It was great on the 72 album and also great tonight. Listening to it on 72 , it's what set this band apart from all the other bands I listened to for me personally. A natural jam from one song
Into another song is the GD trademark that really stated it all for me. He Gone, another 72 song and it was done superbly. Such a beautiful meaningful song. They really jazzed up the ending and really took their time ending the song. So beautiful. Out of Space we get Standing on the Moon. The "Gulf of Mexico" line got a big cheer. John really Jammed on this with his guitar beautifully. Another 72 staple, B.E. Woman that got the whole crowd up and dancing. This song has really been upgraded by the band since 72. Such a real crowd pleaser. Rocking Hell next and rocked it hard. John actually had a Squack sound on his guitar that really worked well for the ending Hell jam. Beautiful Brokedown for the landing. I generally prefer longer songs in this slot starting with the Universe visual eventually getting to Earth for the landing instead of a short song starting with the Earth visual. Brokedown is so beautiful, I don't mind that short song in this landing slot. A fun Love Lite to end the show. Loved it. Wonderful song to end a show.
Finished off at the Tuscany. It's wonderful that they have not 1 but 2 different bands entertaining us after the show. I briefly checked out both bands but was exhausted and soon hit the road back to my RV which is only a 20 min drive away. Convenient.

Set 2 opens with a strong Shakedown. Such a great set opener song getting the whole crowd up and dancing. West LA was very well done. Sugaree is such a classic Jerry song always giving John a chance to show off his chops. John never disappoints on the big Sugaree guitar jam crescendo bringing down the house. Sugaree seemed to have a new visual. A tie dye trippy sand dunes landscape. It's kind of similar to other trippy visuals they are using. Estimated is such a classic GD song. I remember the GD days when Bobby would prance accross the stage at the big climax of the song. Bobby ain't prancing anymore but the song is still so awesome. The Bass rhythm riff is so strong in Estimated, kind of gives me goosebumps every time i hear it. Eyes of the World was wonderful featuring Oteils bass work. The band really needs to let Oteil stretch on more songs. I love that Eyes is in heavy rotation featuring Oteil but they should let him stretch on more songs then just Eyes. A brand spankin new visual for Eyes. I absolutely love that we are getting new visuals this late in the game. This visual is the inside of a tent. Eventually the tent opens to a Rocky desert landscape and we slowly evolve outside the tent into the landscape. Very beautiful. Anybody know where this is? Seemed like a populated landmark on the bottom left of the landscape visual. Dear Prudence a wonderful song after Space. The Dead have really turned this song into another tour de force. The "look around, round, round" chorus is so fun to hear. Strong Cold Rain. The Earth visual comes up and we get Brokedown. Short song for the 2nd to last song but the visual actually gave the band time to still stretch out Brokedown. It was actually a really great Brokedown as they had to jam on it a bit to match the landing. Very well done. For the closer we get the most classic rock song every band on the planet cuts their teeth on starting out. Johnny B Goode. The Chuck Berry classic that kind of started it all way back in 1958. Hmm, the year i was born lol. The Dead rocked it out and did the song great justice. They simply crushed it. No group bow. Bob and Mickey clapped for the audience, John waved.
Finished off at the Tuscany and caught a little bit of the Grateful Dames in the Piazza lounge and called it a nite.

2nd set they open with SSDD. Cool. Then Greatest. Love Greatest. I love the Robert Hunter lyrics of biblical characters with a lot of great and wry lines. Solid China>Rider with that great transition. Terrapin Station magnificent as always. The Days Between was really really hot. Jeff does some real great work on this. John then takes over and with very inventive guitar work that actually reminded me of Santana. It just struck me as having a Latin flavor and I loved it and actually blew me away. I need to listen to this again. I was quite impressed. He got so far away from Days Between that it was almost awkward going back into it to finish. Strong Althea and another vehicle for John to show off his chops and he didn't disappoint. 2nd to last song starts in the Universe visual so it's a while to get to Earth visual and it's Morning dew. Love long songs. Of course Morning Dew builds to that huge ending crescendo. Finished up with the funnest closing song in their repertoire, NFA. Loved it in the GD day's snd still love it. Such a fitting song to end a show. No group bow. Bob and John did make a point of clapping for the audience showing their appreciation
Short stop at the Tuscany. Saw the band in the lounge. They start at about 1130pm. Didn't wait for the Copa room band, they start at midnight. Tired and another show tomorrow.
I'm generally in obstructed but not too obstructed for the residency. Tonight I sat in 409. Pretty much the high right corner. A great view so I took a lot of pics because I could see everything. Liberty a nice way to start out the 2nd set. Love "Freedom" line. Had the paint by numbers visual with little Jerry on the porch rather then in the clouds. I noticed John showing off all his arm tattoos to start the 2nd set. I could be wrong but I think this is the 1st time at the Sphere sleeveless. Scarlet was great building to that great crescendo I really love. Then it got spacey as they Jammed
away. Soon hints of Fire. Wow, the Scarlet >Fire transition is back. They did throw in their typical Scarlet ending but it seemed unfocused and just part of the jam that kept going until it became Fire. Of course always fun to hear Mickey sing and always gets a big audience reaction. Cumberland Blues was blazing hot. I loved it. It's got such a bluegrass feel with all those quick fast notes at a frenetic pace. Strong They Love Each Other. So far 5 songs for the 2nd set and they start Playing in the Band. Oh yea. 6th song. Love 2nd sets opening with 6 songs. More songs please. Playing in the Band was great going into that big crescendo then getting spacy with lots of improvisation then slowly developing the jam again into that big final crescendo ending. Out of Space we get the magnificent Death Don't Have no Mercy. Oh yea. Blues. I'm a huge Blues fan and love it when they cover a classic. Hey boys, how about a Viola. Strong Brown-Eyed Women that's such a crowd pleaser getting everyone up to dance. Throwing Stones visually wise they gave it plenty of time unlike some nights where they start with Earth. Throwing Stones starts in the galaxy, through the milky way and finally Earth appears as the big Mayer solo hits stride then giving plenty of time for the landing. John had a real funky guitar tone for the Stones ending. Love it when they land with a long song rather then short bringing the Earth visual right away. Long songs for the 2nd last song please. It should take a long time to get to Earth. Rocking Casey Jones to close out the show. One of my favorite songs to close out a show.

Second set opens with a fantastic Here Comes Sunshine. What a wonderful surprise and the performance of this song was simply outstanding. Solid Estimated. Eyes of the World was wonderful. The band really takes its time on this. John stepped back at one point giving Bob and his guitar time to shine. So nice to hear just Bobby's guitar. That developed into Jeff and Bobby jamming then Jeff alone in the spotlight. Soon they give way to Oteil as he lays down a very jazzy bass solo. They need to let Oteil stretch on more songs. Why only Eyes. Terrapin Station magnificent as always. One of my all time favorite GD songs and what started me on my journey. First saw the band in 1978 and due to that, bought the album Terrapin Station album and the rest is history. I just love the grandeur of the song. Mickey gloves on. Strong Looks Like Rain out of space. Rockin Cold Rain. Knocking on Heavens Door and they started the visual with the Universe. Earlier in the Residency they used Knockin for the landing and started it with the Earth visual making it a short song to time the landing. This time we get the long Knocking because the visual starts at the universe giving more time to get to Earth for the landing and therefore a much longer song. Oh yea. Longer is always better when it comes to the Dead lol. Not Fadeaway is one of the best ways to close out a show. Thank You Dead and Co for not closing out Saturday Night with the Sat nite song. Checked out the bands at the Tuscany and called it a night.
For the first 11 shows of this residency, been sitting in the 100s level, usually obstructed. It's a concert at that level. Tonight was up in the 400s level. It's a Sphere show at that level. Nice to see the

Been to any good shows lately?
Open the 2nd set with I Fought the Law. WTF. I was there at Richfield Coliseum when the GD broke it out and my reaction was the same. WTF. I'm sorry but I just don't like the song. I think the GD had excellent taste in what songs to cover. This ain't one of them. Everybody always has that one song you don't like and for me it's this song. Thank goodness they didn't jam it up and got it over pretty quickly. It eventually evolves into Dark Star. This Dark Star was magnificent and muscular. John was all over this song with aggressive muscular improvisation. Never got spacy. John was improvising all kind of jams that actually evolved into sttong hints of the Spanish jsm. Really incredibly wonderful. I need to listen to this again. This may be one of their finest Dark Stars ever. It was that hot. St Stephen next and it was magnificent. Great jams to keep Stephen rocking. No Eleven but I wasn't disappointed as Stephen was so hot hot hot. Sugaree next and of course slowly builds up to the point John goes crazy on the guitar doing some shredding. Outstanding Sugaree. Out of Drums we get the beautifully evocative Stella Blue. A rocking Cold Rain and Snow. Was a 1st set GD song that the Dead have moved to the 2nd set and it works so well there. Love long long songs for the landing and Morning Dew is perfect. Visual starts in the Universe giving the band plenty of time to slowly build the song for the eventual Earth landing. Closed out the show with Midnight Hour. Such a great fun song to close put a show. Covering this song is a home run rather then that dud that opened the 2nd set. I was tired after the show and just drove back to my RV
On a side note, as I came into the Sphere, noticed a guy with a shirt that said " Fuck this Place". They pulled him and his group aside. Not sure if they allowed that shirt inside. My assumption is they made him turn it inside out but I really don't know.
I've done every Sphere show but not sure I'm doing the Golden gate park shows in August. Just seems daunting for an out of towner. Hopefully there will be a live stream and I can couch tour it.

Last show of the residency
What songs will they play ?

Opening the 2nd set we get a rare Passenger. Love how the Dead are covering songs I rarely got in the old GD day's. I may have gotten a Passenger in the 1980's but I can't remember it. Next up , Scarlet>Fire. Oh yea. Great combo. Scarlet was hot as it always is. We got the classic transition from Scarlet to Fire. Yes yes yes. I've been missing that classic transition earlier in the Residency where there was no transition. They would properly end Scarlet then Start Fire. Tonight was different, they did away with that proper Scarlet ending and just Jammed until it eventually evolved into Fire. Loved it. Transition music is some of the most interesting jamming the band does. So thrilled the Scarlet into Fire transition is back. It's the natural order of things in Deadhead land. Great Estimated with a great middle jam from John. John stretches out that Estimated jam a lot longer then Jerry ever did it. Estimated is just such a classic GD song with that awesome bottom end rhythm that drives the song. Eyes of the World was wonderful as Jeff is able to stretch out with beautiful piano work. We then get Oteil stretching out with wonderful improvising bass work that just shines. Took a video of Oteil doing Oteil things on the bass since his stretch out time on this song is so predictable lol. Eyes = Bass jam every time it's performed. Out of Space we get a rare Looks Like Rain and it was beautiful starting out so mellow but finishing so strong getting the audience out of their seats by the end of the song. 2nd Tangled up in Blue for the residency. A Bob Dylan Masterpiece. I wished they stretched it out more. The John solo was relatively short. A lot shorter then JGB versions where Jerry would really go off on the melody jamming on it endlessly. The Dead kind of play Tangled pretty straight forward instead of really jamming on it like Jerry. Still enjoyed the Dead version. Just not as strong as a JGB version. Knocking on Heavens Door to close out the set. We have the galaxy visual transitioning to the Earth visual pretty quickly kind of shortening the song. Oh well. The Phil voice is back describing the band. Oh yea. Finished off the show with a perfect song. Ripple. Best way to end a show is with one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
The band huddled up for a group hug then gave the audience a group bow. They put up all the credits on the screen. A lot of people put these shows together. The credits display is so huge, took several pics to get the whole thing
Yes I saw all 18 shows. These shows for me personally are extremely convenient. An RV park just 20 min away from the venue with very reasonable monthly rates that actually saves me a lot of money. Free parking at the Tuscany which is just a 20 min walk to the Sphere. Great restaurants to get a good meal before a show. What's not to like. Love convenient shows that check all my boxes.

To be honest
This forum is kind of an afterthought for me these days
I post more on FB and Reddit
I just come in here sometimes and do a quick copy and paste from my FB and Reddit posts
Those places are more welcoming and have better rules
Overall the rules pretty much suck here
I can't post honestly here and not get suspended
Math used to rule here
It no longer does
1 plus 1 no longer equals 2 here
It's unfortunate
I understand your gripes about this forum. I have similar thoughts at times but have figured out how to not let them bother me as much as they bother you.
How many total shows have you been to ‘The Sphere’?
Have you been there when there wasn’t a ‘Dead’ show?
