I think what you mean is it is not comped in advance. Your host will learn of your trip and I would hope you will not be disappointed upon checking out.Quote: ams288By “splurge” I just mean the hotel isn’t comped.

Host? I highly doubt $25 Pai Gow will ever qualify anyone for a host at Wynn/Encore.
I know what you mean but many places value repeat visitors even if their action is below what would normally be of interest to that property. If you are a frequent visitor and have been observed "doing the Lord's work" (tipping) you might at least get the casino rate on your room. I could not even afford 25 cent pai gow but I would still have a chat with a host just before checking out.Quote: ams288Host? Seems like ams and I are almost the same gambler... When I stayed at Wynn or Encore I did speak with a host at the end of my stay, and one time they surprisingly comped a few hundred dollars in meals; the other time maybe one meal that was less than $100. But I was put on some sort of email list with discounted rooms, maybe it was $200 a night instead of the rack rate.
So it looks as if your conversation got you 300 dollars and an indication from them that they would be amenable to further savings if your computer profile ever changed. For you, that is not a particularly staggering return on your investment of time and energy but it at least gave you a clear view of where you stand with them.Quote: SOOPOOI did speak with a host at the end of my stay....
If normal then you should play the Wynn casino app. In 6 weeks I have enough points for 4 nights free and they waive the resort fees. No guarantee that you would get in encore though, but free is free
That's the spirit!Quote: GWAE, but free is free
Quote: GWAEIs your encore room a special room or is that just the cost for a normal room?

I think I'll try the Wynn casino ap then! To me there is no difference between the Wynn or Encore, and if push cam to shove, I'd say I like Wynn a tiny bit more because the tables I played were a slightly shorter walk.

Already got a trip booked with the app for Labor Day weekend (four weeks from today!)

It's slow going but there are a few ways to earn points easily. I got 1200 today on my wife's account. Rooms are anywhere from 1600-5000 depending on day. Max 4 rooms per stay but wife and I could do 4 each back to back for 8 nights. No black out dates as far as I know

Have you checked the prices lately? I screwed up by not booking early. Now are 6100 gems a night each. They are Friday and Saturday night though. Given your post here, you haven't looked lately. No room is 1600. Hell, I've played since November and haven't seen anything lower than 1500. 1800 to 6100 now through December. Fml. Fml. Fml. Our nights were about 3400 a week before we booked.
And 1200 in a day? Wtf amount were you betting there? Have you spent any actual money?
Quite a peaceful view to fall asleep to. Forgot to take pics of the room yesterday. Will do today once it gets cleaned.
Arrived yesterday around 2pm. Check in was a breeze. The check in lady was like “Thank you for your patience.” And I go “What patience? I literally just walked in here and there was no line.”
Only gambled at Harrah’s yesterday. First session was good. Second session was garbage. Literally didn’t win one hand.
During the first session, we saw a guy a couple tables over hit 5 aces. The progressive for 5 aces was up to $56k and he was betting it. He just sat there calmly as all the suits came to verify the jackpot. I would have been shouting! The cocktail waitress told us he’s a regular and a nice guy. She called him her boyfriend. lol
Not much else of note happened. Today I think will be a Fremont street day for me.

Sorry just saw your post. I was playing the Hong bao hyper bonus. I was doing the 60 million one but then hit a 2 billion bonus. I upped it to 300 million. I ran well and was breaking even on every single one. I was earning like crazy until I hit level 70. Once you hit level 70 you need 25 million per gem so it is slow now. I was just playing the hyper bonus on the new fire eagle. At 243 million bet I get 12 gems.
I did spend I think $6 for the piggy bank when it hit 100 million. Currently I have 6.5b chips. Yes they did raise the prices recently but there was plenty of nights for 2k gems. I will be there in Oct and planned on staying planet Hollywood for free but I might switch the Wynn. My 4 nights would be 13k gems.
It’s very nice (obviously). But I will say I definitely like Encore better. Bigger room, feels fresher, and a calmer vibe over there.
But for free (and no resort fees), it’s hard to beat this!!

Cant figure out why people care if the room is large. Do you feel there is a benefit to that? I much prefer a nice view, clean room, and nice bathroom.

Room size isn't the most important thing, but given the choice I'd always take a bigger room over a smaller one. I consider Encore and Wynn to basically be the same property, so think I'd always choose an Encore room if given that option.
I don't really care about the view, as long as I'm not staring at a wall or something.

Free is the bottom line. Agreed there.
Are the Wynn rooms same as the Encore standard suites in that you must turn on ALL the room lights just to light up the closet? A real pain if you need to get in and out of the safe.
Also that light right above the bed, in the ceiling. In an Encore standard suite no way to turn it off separately from the rest of the room lights.
But why would anyone want a smaller room? I recall one time when staying at the largest two story Nugget spa tower suite, the monstrous two story ones located in the middle (there are actually varying sizes of spa tower suites, they all look the same, but the largest are reserved for players), I had met this girl and was talking to her on the phone occasionally, One day she asked what I was going to do that day and I said, Oh, nothing, probably just hang around the room. She thought that was odd until she started visiting and staying with me in the suite. "I wouldn't leave this room either!"

Same thing at Wynn.
Had an interesting experience at Harrah’s playing Face Up Pai Gow tonight that involved me getting a royal flush (what is it with me and royals at Harrah’s?!). The dealer and pit boss really pissed me off. I’ll type it up in the morning. Too tired and tipsy right now.
