Hi. I just came back the other day from the GN Vegas. It was a good trip and we hooked up with friends while we here there. They stayed over at the D which, by the end of the trip, they had come to regret. To get me there the Nugget lured me in with a Parlour suite for me and my spouse, $725 in show up money, limo and, of all things, a Bacon Maker.

Day one: It was our arrival day so we had a half day. Got situated and instead of my usual attack at the craps table I hit Blackjack. It's 3:2 there and has all the other usual rules. Up and down at $50 a hand. I left after an hour of chopping exactly where I began + a Coors Light.

One of my goals was to teach my spouse how to offset in craps. She's done it before on Wiz of Odds simulator but needed to overcome the inimidation of doing it on a live game. We didn't do it but she played straight up at a full table to get comfortable enough to do it on the next trip. The table, unlike the simulator, has the the S/T/A on it and someone hit the tall for a buck.

Day two: Our first full day. The major purchase that day was a cabana in the adult only Hideout area. Our waitress couldn't come by fast enough, which was nice.. We made good use of it although the two men came and went to the tables while the ladies never left. For dinner we went to the Paris for a high end burger place that they have. I forget the name and don't feel like looking it up on their website.

Gambling was slots for the ladies and 100% craps for myself. We had to go to the D to get some stuff and I tried to play $5 a throw at craps. I was next to the stickman and I still couldn't hear what the number was so I had to guess each roll based on how the dealers were reacting. What a dump.

Back to Craps; won $825 dollars over the course of 3 hours. The highlight, although I didn't score anything, was that the All Tall Small bet it all hit and one fellow had $15 on each one. I told my wife ahead of time that if the 9 hit (the last number) the whole table would erupt. As you might have guessed, I was right. The GN A/T/S pays the inferior odds of 30/150/30 but I still wouldn't kick a 210:1 win out of bed. Along the way I also figured out a way to try to take advantage of the A/T/S bet but that's a discussion for another time. After a little bit of a reversal I called it a night and walked away a winner for the trip. The ladies wanted to play roulette for a little bit so I stood and watched them. Nothing much happened with them but I saw some woman playing the Martingdale system. While we were there (30 minutes, maybe 40) she got away with it.

During the second full day I kept gambling at craps and just spent 3 hours or so chopping and listening to one player bitch about how nothing was going his way. I thought he should just call it a day but of course kept my thoughts to myself.

Our final day was the interesting one. Our flight was delayed so I just killed time watching degenerates play the slot machines at Mccaran that never pay off and are totally silent. When I got back the flight had been cancelled. Rather than get a room back at the GN from my host we decided to just rent a car and drive back to Denver. I asked for a Toyota but the guy (and I don't know why) offered me a Dodge Challanger! Needless to say we took it. There were a lot of chasms and construction to deal with but there were also plenty of times that we had the open road (I-15 and I-70) to open that puppy up. Without even trying I got it up to 115 mph with a lot of power still unused. Final driving time: 13 hours but only because I didn't drive that fast all the way home.

In the end: up a few hundred bucks, an nice few days, and the realization that my next car will be a Dodge Challanger.

Thank you, great report. You forgot to explain the most intriguing part of the trip. What is a bacon maker?
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

My guess is you ate at Burger Brasserie. Meh. I've eaten there 3-4 times, usually leave underwhelmed. And cannot figure out why I went there for times three and four. It's not bad; it's just that there are better places. My two cents.
