Lots of casinos

This is not a trip report but I just had to go through a list of the 322 licensed Nevada casinos. It turns out that I have been to 160 of them at one time or another. No wonder I am poor. :-)
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

To be considered a casino they just need to have over 15 slot machines so most of them that I have not been to are basically little bars with less than 30 machines. I think there are only two casinos with over 100 machines that I have not been to.

Been saving one waiting on Face's call to arms, but would hate to just ignore your plea for help.
Do you work for the NSA, or the IRS, or any other gubment agencies that are referred to by 3 letters?
You may have a condition.
No doubt one of the big pharmaceutical companies has just what you need to make you feel better.
If it's still in the experimental stage, they will actually PAY you to to adjust your condition.
Yea, you have to sign some forms to get them to pay you to test their latest experimental drug.
If things fall off, or you can't breathe, or sleep, or walk etc., You will show up in the test results as a possible side effect. Tweaking of the drug and/or the dosage might be necessary for the rest of us. But you can crawl, silently, over toward your keyboard, and try to send the rest of us a warning. Well, unless your arms fell off ;-)
Blink twice if you need the Calvary.....Some side effects are reversible ;-)

No, I have not been there but I also think that is smaller than 100 slot machines.

Oh that makes sense. I was thinking that it was larger than it was I guess. I was there once about 2 years ago. I remember there only being 2-3 BJ tables which are now gone. I thought between the slots in the casino and the slots that are in the attached bar they would have 100. The bar and casino are only separated by a door way not an actual door but maybe they are considered two different places.

You may be right, I was just under the impression it was smaller. There may be another one over 100 machines that I have not been to. I was just glancing at the list and those were the only two "bigger" ones that jumped out to me.

Isn't Cactus Pete's like a gas station with some slot machines? I remember heading to AZ from Vegas for my cousins wedding and we stopped off at this gas station that had slots (no tables) inside. Can't imagine how you'd go through jackpot on way from vegas to Arizona. Sounds like you're thinking of searchlight perhaps?

Cactus Pete's is on the Nevada/Idaho border in Jackpot, Nevada.

Yeah none of those are what I was in... It was the only thing on the road, on the left side heading to AZ from Vegas. It looked like NOTHING more than a gas station until we pulled in and it said "and casino" so I immediately had to get out and check it out. No tables at all, just about maybe 30 slot machines.
We were heading to Lake Havasu if that helps. I wasn't driving so I don't recall the exact directions/etc.

was there also 2 lanes of small pin bowling? That sounds like the Terribles gas station in Searchlight. Is that still a terribles? Now that the nugget is similarly named, that's going to get confusing...

There are a bunch of those little slot parlours. A lot of them are called Dotty's I think. Are you sure you weren't in Searchlight cause that would be in the right area and there really aren't many other possibibites between Vegas and Havasu. Also could have been Cal-Nev-Ari but I doubt it. There isn't anything between Vegas and Havasu other than those two options so either you were somehow on the Idaho border or it was Searchlight lol.

Left from mid-strip and followed google map directions to Lake Havasu. This was also about the beginning of Nov 2013 (about 2.5 years ago).

If it was on the left side as you went from Vegas to AZ, there are only two options, both in Searchlight - it was either the Searchlight Nugget (which has no gas) or it was the Terribles (Chevron Station, McDonalds, Casino combination). Both are on the left side of the road when you're heading south. The Nugget is near the north end of town, the Terribles is pretty much when you're exiting on the south side of town. Keep in mind, Searchlight is tiny, so these things are 1/2 mile apart...

I always stop at Cal-Nev-Ari when travelling that direction. It has become a tradition for me and the wives.

hehe... I've only been to Terrible's Searchlight once as well, and those are the two things that I remember most. Creepy western costumes could have been flashbacks of Sam's Town, Buffalo Bills, Binion's...
I went in to look for a chip for the collection (as noted above, none to be had), and wanted to try the bowling, but there was already someone playing, and the Carumba's in the family van at the Chevron weren't going to wait... Maybe next time.

There was one there for a while. From what I heard about it, It was bought by Verlie Going from a friend who owned a store in maybe Nipton and the store was, after a many years, shutting down. Since the Searchlight Nugget was sold, the chair is gone, now.

The best thing about that highway is the speed limit is what, like 80? I always drive by and wonder why someone needs an airplane in their backyard. Does he ever randomly take it out for a spin? Lots to think about on that lonely drive. Obviously CNA has no HOA.
