Simply amazing how bad variance is losing 20 in a row WITH A WITNESS
mix it up
im typing this with one hand so my bad but i got a pizza in the other
Quote: aceofspadesI see the mathletes are waking up now and about to turn this into a "bash Ace" thread
I just figured out the worst thing a mathlete could point out to Ace:
A common theme from Ace when losing is "bad beats" like a 21 beating a 20, or just the phenom of sheer number of dealer wins in showdown [I don't seem to hear the term 'showdown' in BJ, is it used? ... what I mean is those resolutions where neither busts]
Oh boy here we go. This is how it starts.Quote: RSPlaying some DD.....I felt like AoS. Dealer drew to 21, 4 hands out of 5.....and I had my super-max bet out. :(
Next thing you know it's 30 in a row.
I'll only believe you RS if it was 2 different tables.

Could it be?
The interesting thing that some of these unwelcome returners have done is make it harder to welcome "new" folks with open arms...we become more suspicious of every post.
Eventually, the unwelcome do go away; sometimes it just takes too long.

Not so far.
Got a nice little run of +650
Trip -6350
Got another 850
Trip -5.5
Left with another 100 lol
I sat down at a table - there was a SURRENDER sign on the table - some guy sitting there says - there is no surrender anymore - I ask PB - he says that's true even though the sign is there - I tell PB that DGE might have something to say about that - schmuck at table chimes in saying "Surrender is for suckers" - I walked away
Trip -4.9
Quote: aceofspadeshe says that's true even though the sign is there -
So if you tried to use surrender they
won't let you, even though a sign
says you can? Isn't that illegal?

I pointed that out and he agreed he would have to but asked me to not escalate an argument
Trip -4.4
I love it.

That's some funny stuff there...a casino posting a rule that is not willing to follow without an argument. Do you really think that the average gambler would fight them if the said "sorry, sir...we're waiting on a new sign but we no longer allow surrender"? Most likely not.
AOS just tell the PB you are a lawyer. And you are looking for some quick, easy and sure thing money.Quote: aceofspadesI pointed that out and he agreed he would have to but asked me to not escalate an argument

I believe this is the casino that grants surrender upon request in the high limit room as long as everyone at the table agrees. Believe or not they don't always do so. Perhaps they forgot to take the sign down from a previous player.

The previous player was me! Lol
But the sign was still up - it was not until I sat back down again that the other player objected
I split and the dealer told me the book says to stay - I told her I was splitting and she looked annoyed that I didn't listen to her
Lost the hand anyway
Then got on a serious backslide losing 2k back
Then getting 1k back
Trip once again -6

Just split tens, he'll leave.

You have to lose for it to work though :-)

Oh no, is this guy showing up again?

You love that guy Bob
Quote: ajemeisterhoping positive variance will come your way shortly and bring you back up. So you have a down goal for how much you're willing to lose.. but did you set an up goal for the trip before you walk?
Up goal at this point is even
Just picked up another 500

What gives here? Is this a bug in the forum software? How did Artemis quote RonC's post four times before he even posted it? And what gives with all the deleted responses?

I think I know at least one way that it could be done, but I'm not sure why. Maybe the anachronistic quotes are related to the deletions.
As Face knows oh so well, time travel is not all that difficult. ;-)
For example:
Quote: teliot on 5/24/15 at 7:01:31 P.M.Does that explain it? Inside the quote tags, just add whatever time stamp you like.
Moderators, I am just showing how easy it is to falsify a time stamp, I mean no harm.
No, you don't just falsify a time stamp. You have to quote the post earlier in the thread than where it was posted, the way teliot is going to make his post later on the next page of this thread. :-0
Quote: Doc
I'll let you know the technique a little later.
You can use me. Now you don't have to wait =)

are you a time traveler?

I merely added the timestamps for clarity. One can go back to the referenced posts to see that they are right.

Its actually not too hard. Take a post of yours from before and edit it with the quote you want to include. Also explains the deleted. She edited her post to remove what she wanted to say and quoted his post.

I guess the question is "why"?
--What did the original posts say?
--What did the poster want to say about my post?
--Why do it three times?
This is a poster who has been around a while. A member since 2010 with a low number of posts, but there are likely many of those.
If any one "gets it", let me know...
