I was playing slow and steady grinding it out and then WHAMO hit in the face with a frying pan - it just doesn't seem like the same game I started playing 6 years ago - something has changed - yeah there were weeks of losing but never like this - never where the dealer routinely makes 21 or pulls 6 Blackjacks in a shoe repeatedly - it's not only me - others I have known for a long time tell me it feels different to them as well - I know mathematically it is the same but it definitely "feels" different - cannot explain it any other way

I change my mind.
I'm OK with Corps which pick and choose clienteles. Both insurance companies and casinos have the right to pick and choose customers. They may keep profitable ones and kicked out the rest. But, I'm not OK with a casino supervisor who says counting cards... is like stealing food from a buffet (a foodlifting offense), or video-taping a movie in a cinema (a piracy offense).

I see the mathletes are waking up now and about to turn this into a "bash Ace" thread

I just figured out the worst thing a mathlete could point out to Ace:

A common theme from Ace when losing is "bad beats" like a 21 beating a 20, or just the phenom of sheer number of dealer wins in showdown [I don't seem to hear the term 'showdown' in BJ, is it used? ... what I mean is those resolutions where neither busts]

Over the length of time Ace has been playing BJ, it would likely not be the showdowns that cause the losing streaks but the player busts that pre-empt showdown. It's just more likely to be this by many orders of magnitude
the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: “Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell!”   She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder

The interesting thing that some of these unwelcome returners have done is make it harder to welcome "new" folks with open arms...we become more suspicious of every post.

Eventually, the unwelcome do go away; sometimes it just takes too long.

That's some funny stuff there...a casino posting a rule that is not willing to follow without an argument. Do you really think that the average gambler would fight them if the said "sorry, sir...we're waiting on a new sign but we no longer allow surrender"? Most likely not.

I believe this is the casino that grants surrender upon request in the high limit room as long as everyone at the table agrees. Believe or not they don't always do so. Perhaps they forgot to take the sign down from a previous player.

I think I know at least one way that it could be done, but I'm not sure why. Maybe the anachronistic quotes are related to the deletions.

As Face knows oh so well, time travel is not all that difficult. ;-)

For example:
Quote: teliot on 5/24/15 at 7:01:31 P.M.

Does that explain it? Inside the quote tags, just add whatever time stamp you like.

Moderators, I am just showing how easy it is to falsify a time stamp, I mean no harm.

No, you don't just falsify a time stamp. You have to quote the post earlier in the thread than where it was posted, the way teliot is going to make his post later on the next page of this thread. :-0

--Why do it three times?

This is a poster who has been around a while. A member since 2010 with a low number of posts, but there are likely many of those.
