What if you hit the $10k win goal 30 minutes after dinner? Will you simply quit? It is sort of the anti-GN problem from a few days ago. Here's hoping your up so much that you actually have to consider what to do if you quit!

I REALLY don't get this at all. This obsession with trip results seems to ruin the enjoyment for even amateur gamblers. Never mind that I have seen obsession with trip results also destroy otherwise (potentially) winning poker players.
If you're Ace with a bankroll of, say, $10,000 -- with plenty of financial assets not at risk -- what on earth difference does it make if the trip is -1,000 or +1,000, if you're there to have fun?
Yes, winning is more fun than losing, but isn't the real fun playing? Playing, and eating, and socializing, and being entertained? Enjoying the luxury of the resort and the alluring mix of people?
If money is the primary concern, playing blackjack at a negative expectation would be a really dumb way to try to make money -- not to mention the opportunity cost of not working at your high-paying non-gambling job instead.
So to end this rant I really don't understand why recreational gamblers even keep TRACK of their trip results, much less use them as the footer of every post they make in a trip report.
I would be much more interested in "entertainment/recreational" results than numbers.
It just seems to me that 99% of recreational gamblers define whether they have fun by whether they're winning or losing. That makes no sense to me.

When I play it's work and I'm patient, and I still lose 38% of my trips. (More fun than work. A lot of the time I'm on autopilot.)

My trip reports have always contained status updates on whether I am up/down/even -- I like to keep track and people seem to enjoy my trip reports so why mess with a good thing?

Switched tables and the first three hands were doubles:
7,3 v dealer 9 (drew a 9 dealer turned over an Ace)
5,5 v dealer 5 (drew a 6 dealer turned over 9 and drew a 4)
6,3 v dealer 4 (drew a King dealer turned over a 7 then drew a Queen)
The roller coaster kicked in and after another shuffle was down 1k
Dealer change and a shuffle and within 2 shuffles got it back
Trip is even
I was down 3500 and made a last minute run
Trip is once again -2k
