Question is, what is the HE on the Top 3 side bet (Super TriLux for the other company's variant). For those unfamiliar with the bet, it is an optional bet you can make after placing a wager on the standard 21+3. The pays are as follows:
Three of a kind--90:1
Straight Flush--180:1
Suited three of a kind--270:1
I hit the SF last night for my top odds payout ever. Was curious as to how bad of a bet it truly is. Thanks much for the assistance!
(I also didn't see anything on Wizard of Odds under the 21+3 section).
Quote: PGBusterI apologize for a question that has probably been asked before, but I'm guessing my search string was unfavorable to finding the result.

This was in Iowa.Quote: heatmapcan i ask what jurisdiction you were in (aka the state that offers that game)
Thank you to the other poster for sending the link. I was expecting something horrific, in the realm of 15%. Obviously, 9% is a sucker bet too, but I find it fun to play for a chance at a good payout for hands that don't seem uncommon.
ETA: A friend of mine tells me some of the card rooms in the Seattle metro offer it as well.
Probably new accounts have some sort of URL restriction to help with spam.

Now *there's* a name I've not heard in quite some time.
Yep. When I retired I made it a point to limit posting on these boards. But because of this COVID thing, my retirement got very boring, so I took up the challenge to create some new posts and products. Unfortunately, along the way my login credentials here got seriously lost. Mike had to do me a big favor to get my account working again.Quote: heatmapi really didnt believe that it was you ... sorry about the cajones thing... i thought someone was trying to be you and made the story up
My spreadsheet allows you to immediately compute the HE for any number of decks. But why play it at all unless you have a way to get an advantage? Unless you can do some serious shuffle tracking, the 21+3 in all of its variants is fairly immune to advantage play.Quote: charliepatrickThe "Top 3" bet, as opposed to 21+3, has been available in several casinos in the UK. The House Edge quoted is 9% at https://www.ukcasinotablegames.info/blackjacktop3.html but this assumes 8 decks, so the HE for fewer decks would be higher. The problem with the high payout is the maximum bet is usually small compared with other side-bets.
