This had nothing to do with AP. I bought a car. Here in NV you have to smog your car and get insurance before you can register it. I insured it immediately of course. But, you need to go get a 30 day moving permit from the DMV and then go smog it. It had no plates. So I said FK it, ill take the risk. So I grabbed the tittle and my smog coupon that my wife insisted I use. I then headed outside and took the plates off one of my other cars and put them on that car so I could drive it to get smogged and avoid a trip to the DMV without being noticed(Something I may have done a few times in the past without a problem). No such luck, a cop happen to get behind me and he DID notice. The cops jumped out of their Car rather aggressively once we stopped. They yelled for me to put my hands up(I didnt see any guns drawn). They kept telling me to roll down the window. Not being used to the car I didnt really know where the controls were so it took me longer than normal. They didnt like that and said just open the door. They asked me if I knew why they pulled me over. I said, "yes, I will be honest with you" I just bought the car I needed to get the car smogged so I could go register it". "Here is licence, the insurance and here is my smog coupon, the smog place is just down the road, I swapped my plates and figure no one would notice, so I took the risk."Quote: darkozStories that arent told are like trees that fall in the forest with no one around.
1) suspicious of $600?
2) 200 $1? You actually broke down large bills? The machines dont hand out more than 4 at a time. And why? What large scale play could possibly warrant that?
And since you say it looks suspicious there cant be any cover aspects to it.
3) cuffed and put into a police car for legal AP? And you arent considering a lawsuit?
After the cop went to his car and came back, he said, "here is the deal, we take plate switching serouly here because it usually indicates a stolen car or possibly another crime" I said, " I know, and I'm sorry.... lesson learned." He said, I could give you multiple tickets and impound your car, but I'm not going to since you were upfront and honest with us, we really appreciate that. He told me to take off the plates and just drive it without the plates if I'm going to go on to get it smogged and registered.
Just after that, the other cop came over and noticed the tittle on the seat and he asked to see it. He left back to the police car. When he returned he told me to step out of the car and then put me in cuffs. He proceeded to put me in the back of the police car. They said the car came back as stolen. I said, "I certainly didn't steal it, why would I steal a car and then get it insured?" As it turns out, there was some kind of mix up with a similar car being stolen or something like that. They actually apologized and let me go. He told me if I get pulled over again on the way to the smog or DMV to just let them know that officer xxx just pulled you over and gave you hell. Theses particular police officers were actually fairly nice considering the situation.
As it turns out I had to go get the 30 day moving permit anyways because I could't get it smogged since I had disconnected the battery cable to install some more charging ports. I guess it needed to be driven x amount of freeway miles to reset the computer. My Wife said," I told you so, you should have just got the moving permit in the the first place."
Yes, if you are rolling around with that many ones and fives they think you are dealing crack or something like that. Some casino redemption machines will spit out a lot of $5 bills no matter how big the ticket is. The ones are from that and not consolidating as often as I should be. I was planning on paying for everything that day in ones and fives.

With stories like that now you understand why I take the bus

Well, they didn't accidently shoot you, so that's a plus.

If he had been black I am sure there would have been a different outcome
Quote: LuckyPhowKeyser,
Many thanx for the link. Many interesting presentations, but no info about the actual content.
However, I did notice the three sponsors shown at the bottom of the page you provided. One, Global Gaming Business Magazine, probably organized the conference. However, it doesn't actually sell game-protection solutions to casinos. Someone has to pull everything together for conferences such as this one, and GGB seems to do this difficult job well.
The other two conference sponsors do offer game-protection solutions to casinos. I didn't drill down past the Internet home page each presents, but I saw no suggestion they helped with "audio" anything. (True, their video solutions may include audio, but audio is not specifically mentioned.)
If these two companies integrate audio into their video solutions, they appear not to mention it on their Internet home pages. However, I would have enjoyed seeing a free video of some of the conference presentations. Technology, technology everywhere, but never a free recording to view (and hear!)
Did you attend the conference? Or, did you become aware of the conference because the casino was more crowded? Or, buffet lines were so long one had to pack lunch to stand in line for dinner? Or, maybe you became aware of the conference because strangers in suits kept walking the floor and doing crazy, non-gaming stuff. ("See, George, this casino uses Effersen video housings," sez one, pointing at the ceiling.)
LuckyPhow,
You should subscribe to the webmags and alerts these industry companies provide. They're free.
I get about 3 emails a day among about 7 journals. They go to articles, conferences, gaming expos, new game profiles, etc. GGB publishes all the time. I'll try to find some websites and post them here, but just google them, CasinoJournal, gamingdaily, others around.
I have no doubt that's absolutely true. I was actually going to touch on that aspect and say, thank god I was white(both were white cops) but it was already too long of a post so I didnt mention it. Besides, nowadays, I think we are all supposed to be ashamed of being white?Quote: darkozIf he had been black I am sure there would have been a different outcome

Not ashamed at all.
Just recognize there are unasked for benefits
My family is mixed and I have seen my children treated in ways I never was moreso when my son was a teenager.
I came home one evening to find my own son being frisked up against the wall of my home. The cops told me he was loitering suspiciously. He had lost his keys and was waiting for me to arrive to let him in.
Another time I was on a payphone and again my son was waiting for me to finish not 5 feet away when officers began questioning him. I said, officers he with me and they nodded and said oh never mind.
WTF? He wasnt suspicious if he was with his white handler?

Quote:Fascinating stuff for a memoir AP book
Fascinating to who, your family? You
do realize gambling books rarely make
money because the general public
could care less about gambling 'stories'.
And I've seen your story writing ability,
you need a ghost writer if you want to
sell any books. Oops, there go whatever
small profits you would make..
