Depends on the simulation. There is still a limit on how fast computers can go; even if a signal needs to travel only one micron, it can still "only" do it 300 trillion times a second.
Then again, only a gain of 100,000x is needed to reduce a day to 0.864 of a second. PCs have increased, what, about 1000x in CPU speed (4.77 MHz to 5 GHz?) in 30 years?
