Just wondering, which casinos offer the highest bet on an inside number? Casinos around here might have a $2000 max bet listed, this only applies to the outside bets. If you want to bet a number, maxed out at $100. I dont know if it's still true, but Turning Stone used to be limit the inside bet to $25, while otherwise accepting a $5000 max bet outside. What's the highest bet inside allowed in Vegas? Do the high limit tables require a buy-in greater than the highest inside bet?

The most I know is $1000 straight-up on any number (pays 35-to-1). Many big casinos on the Las Vegas strip offer this. Hi rollers make what is called a $1000 "complete bet" (wagering a total of $40,000) that pays $392,000 if the main number hits.

Complete bets are described here:

Often, at this level, players are given loss rebate incentives in excess of 10% and roulette is single-0.

Thank you for answering. I can see why the bets seem low when I didn't even think of different bets combined being a reason I didn't know of. The limits are lower than I'd guess, but higher than being completely over protective.

I'll occasionally bet $25-50 and the dealers act like my dog died when I lose. Then those blue moons I win, they're so amazed. They act like it's a big deal either way, giving more attention than it warrants. Tipping is kind of difficult when all your chips are the same, tending to just use one to tip rather than get change.

I could use Wizard's craps strategy instead of roulette, but I like the simplicity of one bet won or done for small stakes. There is more pride lost letting it ride then losing in craps, plus I might chicken out part way through.

Actually, that's a link to the whole page.

Use this link instead:

to get to the section on Full / Complete and Maximums.

The maximum amount allowed to be wagered on a single bet in European roulette is based on a progressive betting model. If the casino allows a maximum bet of $1000 on a 35-to-1 straight-up, then on each 17-to-1 split connected to that straight-up, $2000 may be wagered. Each 8-to-1 corner that covers four numbers) may have $4000 wagered on it. Each 11-to-1 street that covers three numbers may have $3000 wagered on it. Each 5-to-1 six-line may have $6000 wagered on it. Each $1000 incremental bet would be represented by a marker that is used to specifically identify the player and the amount bet.

For instance, if a patron wished to place a full complete bet on 17, the player would call "17 to the maximum". This bet would require a total of 40 chips or $40,000. To manually place the same wager, the player would need to bet:

17 to the maximum

Bet type

Number(s) bet on

Chips

Amount waged

Straight-up 17 1 $1,000
Split 14-17 2 $2,000
Split 16-17 2 $2,000
Split 17-18 2 $2,000
Split 17-20 2 $2,000
Street 16-17-18 3 $3,000
Corner 13-14-16-17 4 $4,000
Corner 14-15-17-18 4 $4,000
Corner 16-17-19-20 4 $4,000
Corner 17-18-20-21 4 $4,000
Six line 13-14-15-16-17-18 6 $6,000
Six line 16-17-18-19-20-21 6 $6,000

Total

40

$40,000

My understanding the same max applying to a single number also applied to corners and edges was wrong, so if the max on 17 was $100, $4000 could be bet around it(by a total maniac). Evenbob mentioned people in Vegas picking up losing bets and running out the door, but 40 chips would be too many. 😂

I don't play roulette, but I've never heard of this incremental thing. If table max inside is $1k, then that's it, you can only bet up to $1k per way. Maybe it's different for different properties, I don't know.

Roulette Maximums vary by casino.

Some casinos have a progressive max, and others have an anyway to the number max.

In many casinos you can negotiate higher limits.

For example at Caesars once they get to know you, and you put up a reasonable amount of front money, they will raise the max bet to 3k straight up.
MGM will often raise to 2k straight up.
