There is nothing more annoying than to have a family (or group of friends) stand at the craps table and each one in turn shoots - only putting a bet in front of the current shooter from the same bank. I am sure that if their pet dog were there, it would be passed the dice in turn and allowed to shoot.
Does anyone else feel this way?

I agree 100%!
Most times it is just a husband and wife, and by me that is cool.
The group of friends really gets to me, since most are loud and drunk.
A good boxman should keep that from happening!

I do. I think it should be like poker, and you should have to wait for the "button to pass". If you are to the left of the shooter and have no bet up on his last throw, the dice should not go to you. This would be the case in which you describe, or if you buy in directly to the left of the shooter.
Since usually it's the husband and wife team, and we all want the unsure, newbie wife to throw, nobody objects.
But the party crowd? Absolutely say something!

I've never heard it's a rule, but if it is, shame on them for making a separate player be the one that has to be an enforcer. So I have to ask the crew to make the dice move when the 5 frat guys are rotating in a circle so they can all shoot on their 5 dollar pass line bet? C'mon, I'm not being paid to run the game. This isn't like poker and "calling time", because we are not at a player vs. player confrontational game.
