There's another advantage for the charity night, in the "consumer's" eye - I wouldn't expect that to last all night at a Detroit casino.

I do not know the specific rules as it applies to Bingo. Frankly, I do not know if we even offer the game anymore. I simply park my car, go in to the gambling tent and come out 5 days later! I am pretty sure that any raffle has to pull its own license. It is not tied to the gaming license or, what the State refers to it as a "Millionaire Party" license.

I think either Wisconsin or Michigan has people doing small charity "gambling" for steaks.

I know some areas have found "Better Lotteries" to exist: lower prices or better payoffs. Obviously illegal but long lasting enough to have been satisfying their market.

Sometimes charity poker can be to pay medical bills for some locally known person; technically it is likely to be illegal but rarely will the cops raid the place.

Distance can be a determining factor or danger can play a role but I think people just want convenience and variety.
