Playing the Wizard's Pai Gow Poker game, I got beat with the front pair by a natural Ace vs the Joker as an Ace. Is that what to expect in the casino?

If both you and the dealer had a pair of aces on top, you would lose the top hand, regardless if it was a joker or not. What a terrible way to lose! Must have been a lot of triple pairs or full houses or something.

Yep - The pair of Jacks beat your pair of 4's, and then the copy hand goes to the house. If you were banking that hand, then it would be a push.

I will say that exact scenario is not mentioned in the Wizard's webpage on it, or if so I missed it after checking twice.
Ummmm, why so a push if banking, I thought if banking ... oh let me look at that page again! [g]

Keep it simple:
The banker wins all copies. In your example both you and the banker have the same 2-card hand (a copy), but the banker has a better 5-card hand, so he wins.
Had you been banking on that turn, your 5-card hand loses to the player, but your 2-card hand wins because it's a copy. Therefore you each win one hand, therefore it's a push.

That includes back hands as well. The bank wins copies either on the front or back hand. While it is completely uncommon to see a copy on the back hand, it happens. When it happens, walk away :)
