How many people knew of the game Skat 31, tonk 31 or blitz 31?
If yes, what part of the county?

Played Tonk in the Army. Still my fav card game. It's a shorten version of Rummy. Looked up Tonk 31....completely different game than Tonk. So, no.

So you or any of your other buddies played 31?
Like Miplet, I played the game but knew it as skat. I'm from NY.
Thanks for the response either way. Trying to get a gauge of the existing knowledge across the country...

How long have you been playing it? I learned it in junior high/high school in the late 90s... Funny that the two northeast people knew it as skat. I wonder if the others are the same...

Skat in Minnesota. Haven't played it in at least 30 years, but it was around in the 60's and 70's.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

You can't use the word "scat" nowadays without it referencing some sites I prefer not to go to..... It's a different time.

We just called it 31 in Ohio.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Thank you to those who have already answered... Also, for those that used to play... Why did you stop? Or did you just forget about it?
