Blackjack is no loner boring
when you play it two ways
I disagree.
The general concept is quite interesting but I think that the rule above will alienate players more than attracting them in the long run IMO.
According to the rules posted on eTable Games, "Split" is an option, not mandatory. If a player feels desirable, then split, otherwise he just plays the regular blackjack with the original two cards. This is how I interpret the rules. I get alienated in blackjack, when I hit 12 and get busted. I have no one to blame besides myself. I hope the developer publish the math and / or the play strategy.Quote: SwitchI played this at the Raving Games Conference in December. The main thing I didn't like was if you split a 10 and received a 6 or lower then you are not allowed to hit and you can only push if the dealer busts. So, with 10,4 verses a 7 - you split and get a 3 on your 10, you have to stay on 13 and hope that the dealer busts in order to push.

Here is another thought: perhaps casino operators would like this game because many players may split the hands when they should not (but just because it was offered.) Like the examples offered by Switch.

It's an option, and not sure if it's always correct to take it. But remember when you don't take the splitting option, you're still playing a bad game since they pay non-split blackjacks even money.
Quote: UCivanOptimal Play Strategy for Split Blackjack has been posted on eTable Games The House Edge is 1.0244%. Not too bad, but who is going to play optimally? Players will split when given an opportunity.
I missed this before. I am surprised the game is only 1.02%. The split function is more valuable than I initially guessed. I'd give it a shot for $5 units with Stephen's tables in hand. :D I dunno if players will totally botch strategy, if anything, they'll incorrectly break 17s too much.
And of course: "Blackjack is no loner boring when you play it two ways"
