Bust Bonus - Blackjack side bet is now live and being played at the Alea casino in Leeds. Bust bonus is unique in that, it is a side bet placed after the cards are dealt.
"Bust Bonus is a thrilling enhancement to Blackjack. Players love how exciting it is when the Dealer busts their hand. With Bust Bonus, players have a chance to improve their win even more when the Dealer goes over 21.
Once all players have acted on their hands but prior to the dealer acting on their hand, players have the option of placing a second additional optional wager, the Bust Bonus wager must be made in even ammounts anf only by players who still have active hands (i.e. the player did not bust their hand). The minimum and maximum amounts of the optional Bust Bonus wagers shall be posted at the table.
The Dealer then acts on their hand based on standard Blackjack rules.
As wagers on the standard game of Blackjack are settled, the dealer will also settle Bust Bonus wagers acording to the selected pay schedule."

This looks remarkably similar to this bet from Galaxy Gaming:

I have to say that I hate this bet, but only because how some of my local casinos have been peddling it. The first time I played at a table with the bust bonus, the dealers were required to offer the BB after every hand dealt, even if was abundantly clear that NONE of the players were going to play it! It got really annoying. At one point the dealer stopped offering it since it was just be and one other guy who hadn't bet the damn thing a single time. The boss noticed and told him again - gotta offer it after every hand!

I hate this bet too. And the dealer asking every time GRRRR I always ask if the other players will NEVER bet and we can give the dealer a break. That has to be frustrating for a dealer. I mean with 2 players including me. A lady sat down and started playing the bet. Me and the other guy left.
Shed not for her
the bitter tear
Nor give the heart
to vain regret
Tis but the casket
that lies here,
The gem that filled it
Sparkles yet

I dunno, looks countable to me. There are definitely counts where the dealer will bust more than 50% of the time with a 5 or 6, so it's sometimes profitable even without the suited bonus payouts.
The thing I don't like about it is that it's correlated with your hand so it raises your variance a lot. If the count is that good you probably already have a big bet out; if you stand on a stiff do you really want to increase your exposure with a small edge? It certainly complicates the matter of choosing a bet size.
