If you go to the wizard of odds site, you can go on the pai gow tiles calculator,
And just enter one single tile and click Analyze.
You can record the results, and get a ranking of tiles by expected value.
The order from best to worst:

Teen, day, gj, gow, yun, foo, bot, ng,
Mooy, gor, ping, bon, tit, chit, chong, look.

Another learning method I would suggest, when playing the wizards tile game or with real tiles...
Keep a little notepad and record the hands that could be split two or three ways.
After you have about twenty of them, treat it as a quiz and record your best guess.
Then go to the calculator and see how close you are to playing optimally.

Totally Random Pai Gow Fact:

The hand which most casinos use as the cutoff for the low hand (3 with H6) is the "worst best high hand" that can be made.

That is, with L4-H6-L6-7, the worst hand there is, you (and the house) should play 1/2, but if you were to make the best high hand with that combination you would be playing 0/3 where the 3-point high hand is 3-with-H6. This is the worst "best high hand" that can be made from any 4-tile combination in the game.

Therefore, I can't help but wonder if that is why they decided to make it the cutoff for the low hand in the traditional strategy.
