Twice now, in consecutive games, the number "33" has been linked to Indianapolis... in an unfavorable way.
Last week the Cowboys scored 33 points in a single quarter, and in doing so routed the Colts, 54 to 19.
Today, 33 represents the number of points the Colts led in the game, only to end up losing 39 to 36, establishing a new NFL record for the largest lead blown.

Colts had a bye week last week. Game was on Dec 4 but yes I remember the score. Colts are really on fire for sure...Last week,the cowboys played the texans and barely beat them 27-23. Note that after Saturday's games, ten players (more than half) have at least one loss... and are thus already out of the running for the Weekly Perfection Bonus.

On a side note, That ending (Patriots up 7, under a minute, 4th down in Raider territory) to losing in regulation cost me $500 in my weekly pool.

*** (I sent mine in a bit too early to take full advantage of this): Going by the odds with Pinnacle at the time that I sent my picks in, I estimated that I had somewhere between 4.0% to 4.5% chance of getting the bonus (as a comparison, a "truly random picker" should have a 1/32 or ~3.1% chance of getting the bonus).

If the perfection bonus wasn't so high, I would seriously consider trying to pick mostly losers, in an attempt to get closer to 50%.
Note: Just eye-balling it, but I think I am currently in "no-mans land" (in other words, a "decent amount above 50%", but I am also fairly unlikely to get into the "top 3" ).

If you really like a team at the following spreads (+ or -), then don't be "too afraid" to select them for this comp (just because they don't end in 0.5):
9, 12***, 15,16, 18, 19, and maybe even 20.
***: I know the Rams / Packers game finished 24-12 to GB, yesterday.

Why is everyone complaining about a little storm? It was an overcast balmy 77 degrees here today. It is supposed to get down to 50 degrees here on Christmas. I will be miserable.

The past 4 weeks in which I have submitted picks: each time I picked correctly 4 of 5 picks and incorrectly 1/5 picks. So, the past 4 weeks I've played I've missed that cursed perfection bonus by one faulty pick each time
The picking in the last two weeks should be especially tough, because there is motivation to consider. And for some reason, these late-season games between playoff contenders and teams that missed the playoffs never go the way that everyone thinks they will.

The picks will be accepted as none of the Picks were opened or posted yet.
I didn't send reminders this week, but it appears that nobody failed to make their picks. I apologize, but I was a little busy with all the NYE stuff yesterday. Per the rules, reminders are to be considered a courtesy, not a guarantee, and it's also the penultimate week of the season.
Anyway, I think everyone got their Picks in, so it's moot, if so. I will most likely send reminders next week.

When I made the rule that I would keep any monies not awarded from the Perfection Bonus, I obviously knew that a run like this without it hitting was possible, but it seemed unlikely that we would go so many consecutive weeks without it hitting to possibly end the season on a streak such as this. If we'd had this kind of imperfect run that was broken in Week 15, or something, then I wouldn't worry about it, but this is quite a lot.
This current run has seen it not hit in eleven weeks, so doing a binomial distribution based on a 50/50 chance of getting a line right, I see that the probability of a Perfect Week is about 3.125% for any given person. Some people have missed weeks, or did not make a Confidence Pick, so let's say that we have an average of 17 qualifying sets of picks for each of these weeks:
17 * 11 = 187
With that, given a 3.125% probability of hitting the Perfection bonus on any given attempt and the fact that we have gone an estimated 187 sets of Picks without:

0.002639920212 probability of going without, according to exact Binomial Calculation, so that means this has been about 1 in 378.8 to go this long without hitting. This methodology isn't exactly right since I used so many estimates, and there is going to be some correlation on certain lines, so it's not as if everyone is literally flipping an independent coin five times, but this seems close enough for an estimate.
Anyway, if this happens, then I will make the total Playoff Picks prize pool $200, so now you guys should all hope the Perfection Bonus does NOT hit, unless you're the one to hit it, of course.

Can we assume that this rollover amount can only be won by the a player that is entered in this contest?
To clarify, if we get a member who wishes to enter the Playoff Picks contest that is not entered in this contest, that player would not be eligible for the rollover amount, since they did not contribute to it at all.
