When the money line is off its fair value in relation to the spread does that usually indicate the line will move later with the money line. I notice this usually with nfl lines early in the week. Thanks

That's a very interesting question and it's one that is not easy to answer. My answer purely from observation would be no. It seems to me that if the money line looks like a worse deal than the spread it is because the books feel the favorite is more likely to win the game than a fair quote based on the spread would indicate. I would say that it is not easy to take advantage of a discrepancy between the spread and the money line and that there are better ways to look for an edge.

When the point spread and money line are off there is definitely a profitable bet to be made (make sure to account for the total). If you want a better chance to find these bets than Tuesday morning, check out week 1 lines in April or May.
