The NFL east is a disaster after 2 games.

The Dallas Cowboys are 2-0, but they will now be without QB Tony Romo and star Wide receiver Dez Bryant for the next 10 games (or more).

The Washington Redskins having promoted their second string QB to first string are 1-1.

The New York Giants are 0-2 after having blown two forth quarter leads.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 0-2 and their supposedly high powered offense looks anything but high powered so far.

I was looking to bet The Giants this morning and Bet Online was there to accommodate with a +800 line.

Dallas exceeded expectations by a lot last season. So you take an over performing team and remove their star QB, WR and RB. Replace them with marginal guys.

Your Eagles might be in trouble. You're hoping to hope that Bradford stays healthy, but now it looks like he might not be better than Sanchize. If the players were kind of on the fence about Kelly and his moves, as was rumored, they might be looking at a collapse. In any case, they are even with The Giants in the standings.

Skins are a joke.

We know Coughlin and Eli can win historically. They've played well enough to win both games this year. The competition is a mess. I think they're a very live dog.

Umm...not exactly MY eagles. You may remember I bet against them last year....a pretty sizable wager for me $5k, on the under win total and lost that wager, when they jumped out of the gate 7-1. I did manage to hedge that wager down the last week so my loss was about a third of that if I recall correctly.

But that whole experience was very hard on me, because....well you are right, I do bleed green, and I hated routing against the birds. This year, I didn't wager anything, just was hoping for the best, although I was not happy about Sam Bradford being our QB. After two games, he has been everything I feared he would be. Even worse, Kelly got rid of two good offensive linemen, both guards, and now the Eagles once solid line, looks like a high school JV team so far. They can't protect Bradford. They can't run block.

For the reasons listed above, I am not seeing an eagles turn-around although the division is wide open. I too was kind of thinking about the Giants turning it around if anyone could. They played 2 decent games, just collapsed at the end of both. But that can be demoralizing. I am also not sold on Eli and Coughlin winning historically. yeah they have 2 superbowls, But Eli has been pretty aweful past couple of seasons. Some of that wasn't his fault, as he too had a real bad offensive line the past couple years. I don't follow the Giants close enough to know if they have worked on that situation at all.

Poll is interesting so far, although very few votes. 4 of the 5 votes, think one of the two 0-2 teams will rebound and win division.

I sat though the Eagles game yesterday at LFF. Stranger things have happened but the Eagles are done. No O-Line and Sam looked lost.

Kewlj, not sure it you still read or follow the local Philly media but they are debating what school Chip heads back to. "Sam the Sham" is the headline and few have fallen as fast as him in Philly sports history.

I still like Dallas to win it, but I agree the Giants bet has value.

I do still follow closely Boz. I read both Daily news and Inquirer articles on Philly.com. I also read the 'bleeding green' website. I know Chip is under heavy fire and rightfully so. He fought for control of personnel decisions and these are his moves.

I really don't believe Kelly ever intended for Bradford to be his QB. Bradford doesn't fit the mode of mobile QB's that running is an additional option. He wanted Foles out and to get someone of value for him that he could then turn around and deal in a package to move up to the number 2 pick. I think he badly mis-calulated that Bradford had any value and then Tennessee, who early on seemed like to were open to dealing that number 2 pick, started to like the idea of Mariota more and more as it got closer to draft day.

Are you a season ticket guy, Boz? I had season tickets for several years before I left Philly and it was a great experience, whether the team was winning or losing (although yesterday's game would have been hard to sit through). We just don't have that type of thing here in Vegas where the city rallies around their sports team (especially football) and come Monday morning the whole city is celebrating a win or has a little deeper version of the 'Monday blues'. That is one of the things I miss most.

The NFL is geographically challenged. There are something like three NFC teams in cities west of the Cowboys.

I hate the Cowboys (and the Dolphins). I really don't have a team that I "love" but I do like the Redskins, who will likely never win anything with Snyder as the owner, and the Texans, a team that looks better on HBO than in reality. They were good at publicity, but their product smells bad.

All of that being said, I think the hated Cowboys will win the division by a game or two.

You and I may hate the Cowboys, but I wouldn't call them the "hated Cowboys". They have a strong and loyal following throughout the country, like no other team, I have seen. Green Bay and Pittsburgh are close. Even in enemy territory like Philadelphia and Washington, There are a tons of cowboy fans, who proudly wear the colors and antagonize the local fans.

Here in Las Vegas, of course we don't have a team. I would say that the colors I see most are Oakland, SF, Dallas and Denver. Oakland might have something to do with gang affiliations, I don't know. Denver is our home team as designated by the NFL, meaning we see all Denver games on local TV. I never got the Denver designated home team thing as there are 4 NFL teams closer, mileage-wise, Arizona, SD, SF and Oakland. ???

No I don't have season tickets. We had 2 yesterday through a beer company looking for business. Since I sell mostly craft beer and I am against big breweries taking over those willing to sell out (see Goose Island) it was an exercise in fultility.

That said, I do have 2 Sixers season tix....go Nerlens and Okafor!

And I understand what you are missing. Philly is a special place...even with half the city closed for the Pope this weekend.

Sorry...the polls support my call on it...but I really was only talking about the "hated Cowboys" in terms of me hating them!!

"The New England Patriots are among the most hated teams and most popular teams in the NFL, according to a poll this week.

The Patriots, who play the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX on Sunday, are second to only the Dallas Cowboys among teams fans hate the most, according to Public Policy Polling."

I voted redskins, but I'm a little biased. I wouldn't put money on it at this point. THAT BEING SAID the division is wide open. I cant see the Cowboys doing much with no Dez or Romo for half the season(Brandon Weedon lol). The Eagles are a hot mess, I compare what Chip Kelley did this off season to what Josh McDaniels did to the Broncos when he came to coach them( shipping out Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall and drafting Tebow in the first). Who knows about the Giants, they could turn it around... The Skins run defense looks outstanding, the offensive line is much improved, if old Captain Kirk Cousins can average less than 1.5 picks per game ( a BIG if) the Skins got a shot. Jordan Reed also needs to stay healthy, another big IF. And D-Jax needs to hurry up and get that hammy healed, hes such a dynamic deep threat. HAIL YEAH

Yep, a lot of ifs, but some of the new players give hope. Rookie Matt Jones with 123 yards last game. And some of the defense is looking like they know how to play; for example Riley has gone from buffoon to solid [not up for hall of fame yet LOL]

but ... well, we all know the "buts" ...
the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: “Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell!”   She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder

Looks like you got in when the getting was good. I just checked BetOnline and the Giants are now +550. I think the Giants have a great shot, especially after releasing professional ball dropper Preston Parker today. If I can get +800 I'm going to jump on it!

I also like the Redskins chances. IF that running game stays anywhere near as strong as it has started the season, that takes a lot of pressure off of Cousins. He has the arm to make the throws, and if he isn't trying to lead comebacks, his interceptions should drop to closer to the league average than in the past. That would be enough to get them in the hunt, especially if the loss of Romo and Bryant cause the Cowboys to lose at least 3-4 games while they are out.

So with The Falcons win over Washington on Sunday the Falcons did swept the NFC east teams. At 5-0, they have 4 wins against the weak NFC east teams and a fifth win against a bad 1-4 Houston team. Makes you wonder just how legit that 5-0 start is. ??

Glad to see NYG in first. Not so glad to see them struggle with the niners.

Monday's going to be big, obviously. If they can beat Philly at home, they're going to be in the driver's seat with my +800 riding shotgun.

Good Luck with that

A buddy of mine many years ago bet HIS TEAM to win the division for$50 and $50 to win the Superbowl

They won the division good for $5000 so he has a co-worker that was heading to Vegas that week put that $5000 on them to WIN the Superbowl..... had $15000 riding on the outcome of the Superbowl.

If was a blast watching him watch that 2000 Superbowl. He ran a year long football pool and all that were in it would attend the Superbowl party at my friends Chinese restaurant. His ST LOUIS RAMS won that year but I believe the outcome of the game was a push on the $5000 he bet..... .total winnings was still $15,000 on his $100 in wagers

It gets better..... him and his two best buddies take off the next weekend.... all expenses paid by him trip to Vegas to collect his $15000....figures will get rooms comped when he collects his $15,000...... maybe he should have checked on that upfront..... Chinese New Years that weekend a not a room could be found in Vegas...oh the stories we heard about sleeping in chairs and couches at the casino with $15000 in his pockets
