Thank you.

And yes, it was a "strategy move" to take my bye this week, which could just as easily have backfired. I had to sweat out several games.

An yes, I noticed earlier this week that if I did sit out, Midwest and Babs would have to have a perfect week to surpass me. (And Midwest almost was!)

It's always been hard for me to pick games in Week 17, with all of players that are either injured or are just resting up for next week, etc. And since I couldn't find five picks I liked, that helped me decide to sit out completely.

Final standings will be posted soon after tonight's game.

Congrats, Ed! It was fun to be in the mix at the end. Thanks very much for all the scoring work!

Condolences to Genwyg and MAP. (I can't remember if this is winner-take-all).

I take very small comfort in having the most overall wins (meaningless, I know).
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Thanks. And yes, thanks to everyone for playing. Thanks to Mission for hosting again.

I wasn't involved in any weekly office pools this year, so this contest helped to make the weekend games a bit more enjoyable than they otherwise would have been.

Two years ago my final percentage in this contest was terrible. I did a little better last year... a bit above .500 as I recall. So it was nice to redeem myself a bit this year.

After the results are confirmed, payment to me via PayPal is preferred. (Ideally, when paying via PayPal, use the "Send Money To Friends or Family" link, which is perfectly okay, so that PayPal doesn't deduct any fees at my end.)

My PayPal address/account is edwardcollins@yahoo.com (I don't have a problem posting it in an open forum. It's been posted all over my website too, for the past 18 years, so what's the difference?)

PM me if you don't have a PayPal account and we can work on an alternative method of payment.

If I remember correctly Mission will forward you the $9.04 I owe you and take it out of my Mr. Mediocre prize. Congrats!

Are there any stats like the records of all confidence picks? Or overall record of picks not taking the extra confidence point in to consideration? Just curious how the forum did as a whole.

I'd also be interested to know how the results would look if there were no extra point for the confidence picks. Seems to me that I did just awful on my confidence picks this season.

Looking at the spreadsheet that EdCollins linked, it appears as if regular picks went 734-719 and confidence picks went 114-110 for the year.

What I don't know is if the 16 forfeit picks are included in these totals? RDWPotus had 1 on week 4, Knuckleball took 5 on week 7, Aluisio took 5 on week 14, and Paradigm took 5 on week 15. If these are included in the total, they would need to be backed out to get real sense of how the group collectively picked.

It's funny the contest came down to a seemingly meaningless Rams vs Niners game that went into overtime. I bet not too many people had an eye on that game, but I was sure paying attention. Congrats once again!

I was 3-5 on my confidence picks. In past years I did not make any confidence picks at the start, preferring to stay conservative until I needed to go for bigger swings later in the year. This year I decided to start right out making them and lost my confidence pick each of the first two weeks. If we do the game next year I will try to avoid them again.

Good eye. Yes, these 16 forfeits are indeed included in the total, and do need to be backed out.

Backing them out, it seems as a group this year we had...

734 regular pick wins against 703 regular pick losses.
114 confidence pick wins against 110 confidence pick losses.

Alas, I didn't really have any strategy from week to week. Sorry. I just picked the teams that I liked. Sometimes I'd like the dogs and sometimes I like the favorites.

I would say no, not yet, but if for some reason I'm not the winner, I'll be doing some refunding to those who have already paid me. :)

Greetings!

The first thing that I would like to do is congratulate EdCollins on his victory in this year's WoV Picks Game!

As everyone knows, I am making the payouts within thirty (30) days of the Super Bowl being played and that is because someone to whom I owe money could also conceivably win the $25 prize of the WoV Playoff Picks Game:

https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/sports/24693-2015-wov-playoff-picks-game/#post507469

However, here are the monies I owe:

I owe $50.00 to EdCollins on direct.

Congratulations to SOOPOO who won the, "Most Average," prize this year. As a result of his win, I will be paying the $9.04 owed to EdCollins his behalf and shall pay him the difference of $15.96.

Finally, Congratulations to WizardofNothing who sucks and has won the, "You Suck," prize for this year. As a result of his win, I will be paying the $20.33 owed to EdCollins on his behalf and shall pay him the difference of $4.67.

Congratulations again to EdCollins, as well as my gratitude for posting the Weekly Results. Also, congratulations to both of our consolation prize winners, thank you to everyone for playing, and please remember to play the Playoff Picks game!

Thank you to everyone who congratulated me and thank you to for everyone who has paid me so far.

It's only been three days but so far I've received payment from Wizard, BeachBumBabs, MidwestAP, AyaCarumba, Genwyzgy, JML24, 10Dollarbri, JW17, Miplet, JohnZimbo, and Terapined.

I'll send out a PM to the others at the end of this weekend, if I don't hear from then by then.
