Any insight or opinions on this prime time boxing event? I'm thinking about a trip over to Manila, staying at the Hyatt which has a casino(but no sports book) and there are rumored craps tables at the newer "resort" near the airport as well as the Hyatt(some negative reports on the rules at the Hyatt such as "bar 3" on the don't pass and place bet payoffs being lower than the norm). I'm also a cock fight bettor and Manila might be the cock fight capital of the world. As some know, Manny Pacquiao is a Philippine congressman and national hero, even after losing a few fights in recent years. It seems like it would be fun to be among down to earth Filipino's for one of his fights. I'm sure it's pay per view in the USA, but Asians find a way around that. The excitement of a boxing event of this type combined with the roar of the crowd at a major cock fighting event can't be matched. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Please feel free to join me or discourage me. That's why I posted it here. I'm checking on the flights and craps rules now. Any insight on that also very welcome. (Yes I know Manila is dangerous, dirty, corrupt, and full of scams, but the women, OMG the women are so very sweet)

The current line has Pacquiao as the boxing favorite at -215, meaning you have to risk $215 to win a $100.

Undefeated two-division world champion Bradley is this fights underdog, that has value at +182, meaning that for every $100 bet you will win $182. Pacquiao vs. Bradley II -

Total Rounds Betting

The opening line on Pacquiao vs. Bradley rematch has the Over/Under at 10.5 rounds with the Over at -240 Odds

The fight is scheduled for 12 rounds. The current total rounds betting line has the Over 10.5 Rounds ( -270 ).

Meaning that if you think the fight is going to go to at least 10.5 rounds for you to win your bet. You will need to bet $270 to win $100.

The Under 10.5 Rounds ( +220 ), meaning you need to risk $100 to win $220.

I do like Bradley in the fight, I actually thought the last one was very close and didn't consider the decision corrupt/wrong but I'm no "expert". I'd have to bet it online which I've never done. I don't know of any legal sportsbook in Thailand and/or the Philippines. There is one outlet in Laos(SavenVegas) but they are unable to answer questions and it's a long way from home. My google search yielded another new casino property near the airport, five star with craps and the rules seem normal. Air however is not exactly on any promotions at the moment. This is high season for traveling as school out in Thailand. So back at it.

I am going to the fight in Vegas and still believe Manny will win this one. I believe the fight will be very equal, but that said knowing boxing, Bradley will have to dominate most rounds to get the decision. Fair or not, the judges know how bad the last fight looked for boxing and will have a bias for Manny. Also I believe Manny really knows he needs this to have any chance at the payday against Floyd. As for betting it, the odds are higher than they should be and much of what I am saying is probably factored into the number. I don't see any reason to bet much on the fight and just want to enjoy a good fight.

You mean the way that one of the judges who thought Bradley won the first fight also thought that Mayweather-Alvarez was a draw?

Hoewver, this time, they are having two non-Nevada judges, which is a departure from the usual "two judges from Nevada" policy used for Vegas fights.

The question is, if Pacquiao wins, does this reopen the door for a fight against Mayweather, especially as Mayweather knows just how out-of-touch one of the first fight's judges could be?

A fight that was really bad for boxing was the first Holyfied/Lewis fight. Lewis completely dominated Holdyfield but lost the decision. I watched that fight in the Loser's Lounge at the Riverside in Laughlin. When the decision was announced the most surprised people in the house were the Holyfield bettors.

Loser's Lounge at the Riverside in Laughlin.

Ha ha ha ha ...... I remember that place it was a club at night. I took a few different dates/ GFs there, it was easy to sneak in girls under 21. That place got fairly wild fri sat night. It was like a different world from the casino. The casino would be filled with old ladies and a few young rocker skanks mixed in. The kind YOU might think about after half a bottle. Then you would walk in to the LL and it seemed like every hot board chick from the surrounding places who couldn't make it to Vegas, swarmed the LL, they out numbered the guys 2 to 1.

I still believe it is possible because there is just too much money left on the table if it doesn't. Money makes strange bedfellows at times and this one would break all records. Possible $100 Million for Floyd and $50 Million for Manny.

Pacquiao is afraid of needles. Mayweather wanted random drug testing. However, as you say that may have just been an excuse to stop the talks. I don't think Mayweather has a promotion company, he does it himself.

I think I found a sportsbook in Manila. Still looking for reasonable airfare. Cock Fights are a big event on Sunday's and one can imagine the excitement at said venues especially if Pacquiao wins. The roar at a cock fight arena can't be matched any place on earth.

About ten days. I search the airfares night and day. Unfortunately they remain out of my reach(something close to $800.usd RT from Bangkok). I'd rather spend the money gambling than fine dining on an airplane. I'll go check AirAsia now connecting in Singapore or KL. KL should be reasonable all things considered tourism wise with the lost jumbo jet. May those victims R.I.P..

Greetings. I ended up at the NagaWorld Casino in Phnom Penh.

They have just opened a sportsbook linked to an internet outfit, all "legal". A very nice setting up on the second floor, nice seating and new TV's all over the place. Construction not done but as with most Cambodians, the writers were all kind and interested in me(they being female, me being a rich barang). Cambodians like to learn, something lost on many cultures and in many places.

So, they have things listed in I guess the UK format:

Manny "1.50"
Bradley "2.65"

This contrast with the American way of saying "200" for example for Manny meaning you win $100.usd for each $200usd wagered.

In the above example, based merely on a hunch, I'm betting Bradley at what we on here call "+165". When I left Bangkok, it was "+180". I don't know if the vig adjusted for a remote location, don't care, no choice at this point.

They also have several prop bets, round by round winner, go the distance, etc..

Good luck. It's dangerous out there.

Yes, I mean in most sportsbooks I think of Manny being -200. which as you know, wager 200 to win 100. Hopefully that will be a moot point as Bradley will win at +165(for my $1000.usd wagered).

I got to meet the sportsbook manager. He's an American from Las Vegas, formerly at Caesars. Nice guy, explained how they were just rolling it all out, mostly soccer wagers now but they will have baseball and the NBA soon as well as be set up for the fall, college and professional football. Big money is wagered here at Baccarat and they assume good action will come on the sports. Sub contracted out for now but who knows in the future. $25,000.usd "limit" now on the soccer.
