A certain casino in town is currently offering a prop bet at -110 on one side and +120 on the other. An I right that you can bet both sides of this and lock up an over 2% win?

a. 110 to win 100
b 100 to win 120

if a wins then you spent 210 to win 210
if b wins then you spent 210 to win 220

sounds like a win to me.

Wouldn't you be better off doing...

A. 110 to win 100

B. 95 to win 114

This way you profit regardless of the outcome.

Using a scalpulator, this is what I get:

A. (-110) risk 100 to win 90.90

B. (+120) risk 87 to win 104

Unless it's something like an over41/under39 bet or something to that effect. I've never seen a skinny bookie driving a beat up car.

The South Point line for the first quarter of the Panthers game was under 7.5 for -110, over for +120. I took both sides.

Typically, 1st quarter lines are -115 on each side (total of -30 for vig) --- so obviously the book meant to post it as -110 and -120 and made an error -- nice job finding it.

I'm talking about a split line where the over is a higher number and the under is a lower number and the bookie wins both sides if the game middles. Looks like this wasn't one of those.

Nice, how much did you get down? I would be worried in this situation that they would fix the line before I got the second bet down. I mean, you don't just walk up to the book and ask for both at the same time, do you?

Not as much as I would have liked. A friend was there and actually did the betting for me so I am not sure how she did it. She may well have bet both at the same time!!!

If I was a sports book manager anything I seen a chick betting I would run over and see what she was up to. I would assume she was a runner.

That's how it was on those old time football tickets back in the 80s. Or at least that's when I used to get them.

Example

Giants vs Redskins

Over 41.5

Under 39.5

Of course I was 9 years old, thrilled my mom was allowing me to partake in any sort of sports betting, and had no idea it was a ripoff.
