A few years ago at the Orleans sports book I witness this exchange
A guy went to cash his parlay ticket and got less back than he expected. for a baseball parlay
One of the teams had a pticher change during the course of the day since the ticket was purchased
for baseball, a runline bet is tied to a pitcher and is no action if the pitcher doesnt start. ticket lists the 2 pitchers that you are betting..such as on a moneyline ticket
lkershaw vs lincecum +155
BUT ffor a regular moneyline bet it reads the team only on the ticket...such as Dodgers -180, or METS + 130
It seems that behind the scenes, the odds for the new changed pitcher was inserted in the comoputer for payour...and the new pitcher carried a lower payout. The line on the ticket was different than what was paid
is this usual practice?
does the sports bettor have a valid complaint
if he did have a valid complaint....who would he cmplain to
in reality..he just complained to the ticket writer and took his money and walked away pissed off. It was late at night and there wasnt a suoervisor on the premises .

I'd say the rules are the rules, if they are posted somewhere or available upon request. You can't print every rule on a ticket. It's the players responsibility to know the rules before playing.
If the rules were not posted or written and available somewhere, then I'd say he has a case. Otherwise, that's just the way it is.

The sportsbook is 100% correct. The guy complaining is clueless.

Yes. The odds in baseball are extremely tied to who is pitching. Unless otherwise stated, if you bet baseball and there is a pitching change after the bet is made, the odds are adjusted to the opening line on the new pitchers.
The bettor has the option to say "listed pitchers," which will lock the bet to the expected starting pitchers at the time the bet was made. In that case, if there is a change, then the bet is no action. The bettor can also indicate a single side as "listed" too.
When I bet baseball, I always specify "listed pitchers."
