It was mentioned on tonights college game that OREGON can tie the record for most games in a row over 45 this saturday. The record was set in the late 1800's by harvard or some ivy league school.
So the question is, do the coaches go for the record. It seems they are already scoring around 50 points per game in Oregon. Does UCLA try to shorten the game and run alot of running plays and running the clock down. I think every team tries this...to no avail.
the number is 70.
I think Oregon can score 50, and UCLA can score over 20....so there may be some value.
If its late in the game and OREGON IS UP 40-28.........I think they would be motivated to go for a touchdown rather than run out the clock.
I think I will make a lunch money bet on this angle.

Oregon is averaging 57.6 pts per game. They've scored under 50 only once this year (45 pts against the 16th ranked Huskies). The total line will definitely go up because A LOT of people are going to bet the over. I wouldn't be surprised to see it end at 73.

Don't forget that Oregon usually puts in their 2nd/3rd string late in the game. The scoring tends to drop dramatically. A 12 point margin might not do it, but if it's 45-7 in the 4th you'll definitely see the backups come off the bench.

true, then if someone thinks UCLA will score 7 pts, then the under is the way to bet.
Personally I think UCLA is good enough to score 20. In which case a 40-28 score at the end of the game would involve some interest to score.
remember Oregon being in the west has the dangerfield complex. They feel they dont get respect. Their games are late in the day for the east coast viewers.....so they try to generate theirown recognition where possible.
personally I am not trying to convince anyone of either side...Just saying I am leaning to over . The number seems just right....but based on the "record"...I think Oregon wil be motivated to score early and often.
I also agree that the number may go up a couple of points by gametime.
