Hopefully lots of entrants will go for the feature race or the 4th race which has only 6 entries.

The #1 horse is from Chile and appears to be over-matched.

But the other 5 are all serious contenders.

My pick : Unbridled's Note in the 5th race.. Last race he earned $36,000 for a 3rd at 7F on the dirt the day after Christmas.

His previous race in November was the Breeders Cup Turf Sprint, here at Santa Anita, same distance as today. 6 1/2 F.

As a 3 year old he raced against older horses.

He started from the 13 post, actually took the lead in stretch before losing by 1/2 a length. Winner's time was 1/5 of a second off track record.

He earned a mere$180,000 in that race. Today's purse $75,000.

Can anybody spell L-O-C-K ? ? ?

Jesus Buzzard, because of your "release" Unbridled Note opens at 1/9 and stays there until their loading.....keep your picks to yourself, how are we supposed to make a living around here

There's nobody making a living by betting at the horse tracks because the hold is simply too high. Only the rebate guys down under are making any money.

Keyser we have gone through this before......just because you don't make money betting horses doesn't mean that everybody else is just like you. We all know about the hold.....why did you feel compelled to throw out horse players are suckers card again?

I think I'm sort of burnt out from last contest. I made my pick and my wife's pick without putting much thought into it. If I survive through this weekend I'll start caring again next week.

What I find hard to believe is 2/3 of the 5000+ entries were eliminated yesterday. Evidently they wanted to pick something other than a lock ?

Unbridled note was 1/9 to show in my opinion.

Branding in 7th race today look like 1/5 to show. 6 horse field with 3 contenders. The other 2 contenders won last time out. But one came from 8th in a 8 horse field, the other came from 10th in a 10 horse field. Branding should get lose on an easy lead as he is the only legitimate early speed in the race.

I am still alive, no thanks to Branding's jockey. He decided to rate his horse behind 2 horses. They finished last and next to last. But the closers were only a few lengths behind Branding as they hit the stretch. Ah well, I survived as he finished 3rd.

Been moving last 4 days. Game On Dude in the 10th. Some strong favorites in shorter fields earlier races. So maybe we can get more knocked out today. 5913 started, down to 818 today. Good luck, Finn

I hate Game on Dude. Nothing I'd like to see more than him to finish off the board. He cannot get the distance, so I'd be very nervous to have him as a pick. Ron the Greek can get the distance, so he is my wife's pick. I have the favorite in the 1st.

My 2013 gift to all horse players that would be Buzzard and FinsRule . Play odds-on horses in the place pool in races with 10 or more horses. ROI +15%.

LOL, glad I didn't go to the OTB today.

But, I was wrong, didn't pick RTG, picked Beholder. So my wife and I are still alive. Tomorrow is going to be real tough, but we are under 800!

Yes, Game on Dude had trouble with the distance, under a hand ride at the head of the stretch, and under a strong hold late.

WON by a mere 7 1/4 lengths.

Going with Devious Chic #1 in 3rd race today. Dropping from Maiden Special Weights to claimers. Competitive both race on turf, now on dirt against cheaper, with a bullet work at 5f.

Tuff card today. Hope we make it.

Actually, I think it's been pretty easy till today. Already 20% knocked out through two races. I'm not thinking my wife and I will both make it.
