It would be a nice feature of the forum if there were a weekly NFL pick'em sheet with the point spreads (from a Vegas casino like Texas Station or Red Rock or M or whatever) where each member could select their picks for the week and brag or hide as the case may be on Tuesday morning.
But that would be a bucket of programming and maintenance.

My point is that it is very easy to list one bet, and if correct, it implies little, and if incorrect, also implies little.
Mission has started a contest, and has mentioned .600 over the course of an NFL season. Although still within the possibility of random variance, I think it would be impressive to achieve that goal. If there was some mathematical formula that would produce winners that exceed the vig, it hasn't been found yet. But as I said in the other thread, I admire Fins for the guts to lay it ou in the open for all to see....

Although I am posting in the contest that is being held in this forum on another thread, I wanted to continue this thread since I have the freedom here to post as few or as many as my formula may yield.

For Week 3, I'm really liking:
Jets -3: Oakland was dead after the late MNF and then travel cross country. Fins that not good with Tanneyhill. I can see the Jets bounce back and win this. I just cannot picture the Dolphins 2-1 after 3 weeks. I projected them for 3-4 wins tops for the year.
Cincinnati +4: Skins lose 2 big players to injury. More film on RG3 will start to slow down is sensation. Bengals a balanced team, that should have covered last week against the Browns.
Buffalo -3: Cleveland's O is only the running of Richardson. Weeden is bad IMO. Bills bounced back nicely against KC last week. Their D is a talented as Philly, and if the QB does not turn it over like Vick did in week 1, I can see Buffalo win by a TD+
Leaning SD -3 over ATL. Same scenario as Oakland last week. Going cross country on a short week.

I've gotta figure that it wasn't so much the Dolphins playing well as it was Oakland playing piss poorly. Was Carson Palmer ever any good? I recall one or maybe two years, but that's about it.

I haven't done any sports betting (yet), but do follow it a bit. Does anyone here have any insight as to how the replacement refs have affected the lines? Does that situation change the way you approach betting on the NFL this season?

Uhhhh... did you see week one? Against the JETS? ZERO sacks. ZERO quarterback pressure. LESS THAN ZERO coverage ability by the secondary. Name a Bills linebacker that any other team in the NFL would want? Same for safety. Same for corner..... TASHARD CHOICE will be getting 2nd back carries.... #2 wideout is done for season.... That being said, Cleveland is pretty bad, too....

Well, I ended the year at 70 wins and 63 losses for 52.63%. An improvement over last year, as I had hoped for. Likewise, I expect yet another improvement next year when I can employ the current formula to the entire year. See Ya'll then. Good Luck!
