I would not feel comfortable with less that $50,000.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

I would only ever go after such a jackpot if I placed the machine under observation for AT LEAST 1 year and got an idea of what the average hit point is. Then calculate the meter movement and figure out if the money lost to house edge once reaching that average hit point is less than the jackpot amount. I strongly suspect it would never reach +EV; the meter movement on Major jackpots is typically so slow and the difficulty of hitting it so high that the house edge loss will always be greater.

Yes, if I wanted to feel comfortable that I had enough to keep playing it until I hit it. At $8 a spin the game will be very volatile
