What I have been reading doesn't differentiate between the 2 types of slot machines in upstate New York. I see teams of advantage play people at our casino all day long. Is it really worth it? Especially if they are VLT's?

I don't really like to play slots now because they all sit around ALL DAY and stare at the machines. I figure if it's ready to hit they'd be playing. Why should I play a slot and set them up? If I could see a machine ready then I'd play.

Here casino employees can play slots if they only work on table games. They advantage play too.

So can advantage play work on both RNG & VLT's?

Thank you

Absolutely.

But I don't believe they have must hits with VLT certainly nothing I have seen in NY.

You mentioned table games. This is one of the upstate Indian casinos that are also VLT? I'm unfamiliar with those.

Downstate the VLT facilities have no live dealers.

If you aren't talking must hits then you are referring to variable state? Those definitely are advantageous with VLT. Perhaps moreso in NYS because the minimum return is 90% in NYS.

My neck of the woods has some VLT games you can play for an advantage like Ocean Magic and the original Golden Jungle. One game has been a VLT classic for years called Royal Spins, where you have to highlight all the cherries to win a jackpot (you highlight a cherry by getting a 5 of a kind of cherries); if you're only one cherry away from hitting, might be worth playing if the jackpot is high enough. I even found one with must-hit-by progressive jackpots called Sorcerer's Riches.

However, I have made so little money playing VLTs that I'm skeptical it's even worth the time. Also the fact none of the VLTs up here allow you to cash out your ticket with a quick and easy cash machine but you have to give an actual human being your ticket and wait for them to get you the money (usually in a crowded bar), adds more hassle.

I'm tracking my VLT profits this year and if I make an average of less than $5.00 per visit to the establishment, I'm going to stop bothering.

I never see these teams that walk around and watch for advantage machines all day long or in my case they sit around the machines all day and wait for them to get into advantage play mode. They'll sit at empty blackjack tables and just have coffee all day waiting for the advantage mode. I don't know what it is but I'm curious if they make any money and I'd like to do it 😊. I haven't seen any team members get paid.

Like I said above, it's kind of annoying having them watch over your shoulder all day long. I don't play them now because I figured if they're not playing they're not in advantage mode and if they are playing I'm too late!

Not only are there outside teams but the employees can play slots if they don't work in the slot area. If they work on tabullgames as dealers they can play slots and form teams.

Thanks

There is definitely an advantage play. I never use to play slots but I recently started to play certain games when someone has left by either not knowing about the game or they ran out of money. Fortunately I only have a 3 min walk to a pretty large casino so I can conveniently check on them whenever I feel like it. It’s not like I am going out of the way to find these machines, they are literally across the street .
