Things you may have to consider.
- teams competing with each other.to pick it off. Trying to figure out who is going to monopolize it first.
- Just some millionaire ploppies who band together early and take turns hogging the machine until it hits
- some other consideration.
Do you think a casino should have one? Have they already? I couldn't find anything, (looked for pics under google images)
Will this be fun, work, or just carnage with the public?.
edit - maybe should have put it 6 months out.

As an Advantage Player, I dont like it at all, there are just too many things that could go wrong. For that amount of money, I can just imagine all the shady stuff that could happen. It all might just come down to who is willing to give bribe money, and who is willing to accept the bribe money.Quote: rxwineThere's a must-hit machine within a month or two of reaching its one million dollar limit.

What you are really worried about is someone else figuring out who to bribe before you do!
Obviously.Quote: SOOPOOWhat you are really worried about is someone else figuring out who to bribe before you do!
I guess it would depend on the jurisdiction, however, I think gaming would allow you to have it held/locked up for x amount of time once opened. You probably dont have much recourse if they simply say you are no longer welcome at the casino and then trespass you.Quote: sabreNope. I probably wouldn't even do a 50k unless I had a solid host relationship. You have no recourse if a slot tech taps you on the shoulder after you're buried saying the machine needs to be serviced for an indefinite period.

Have casinos banned a player simply for camping out on a game? If a casino suspects a team is monopolizing a bank of machines to lock up the progressive, can they ban them? I remember seeing a sign on some machines at the Stardust years ago saying no slot teams allowed but is that enforced?

I have seen people escorted from a game if someone wanted to play it and the person wasn't actively playing it.
Yes they can, and yes they have, it has happened a number of times where I was involved over the years.Quote: billryanHave casinos banned a player simply for camping out on a game? Stardust had lots of various good stuff to play back in the day. I was probably in there almost daily for a few years, that place helped build my bankroll significantly.
Stardust defiantly had an issue with allowing advantage slot and video poker players. Their security got very physical with me after I
came on to their radar soon after hitting a few bigger video poker progressives.
Do you know the approximate year you saw that sign at the Stardust, I had never seen such a sign prior to being 86ed?

It was during the 2001 World Series so October/November 2001. In my mind, it was a bank with a Volkswagen on top, but that may not be an accurate memory, but the time is 100% certain.

When I say camping out, I mean someone who is there for the duration, not someone loitering without play.
Quote: SandybestdogIBut I don’t know how many bills the machine can hold. If I had $5000 in twenties and filled it up and it couldn’t take any more bills what would happen? They may not be able to replace the box until the team swaps it out at 5am.
$5000 is 250 $20 notes.
This is not much.
I estimate that a lockbox can hold around 2500 notes and TITO slips based on dimensions.
If the boxes are pulled daily, you have nothing to worry about until you're feeding the acceptor every 34 seconds.
So... use higher denomination money or purchase tickets if you're exceeding $2 bets.
$20's are a bad choice if it's a linked must-hit and you have competition. The downtime in your play while you reload with $20's vs your competition loads with $100's doesn't help you.
Quote: SandybestdogI was thinking of something the other day. If I was playing a must hit by it would give me the chance to get rid of a bunch of twenties. Friend got a 10k must hit wayyyyy past the number needed to take it after a rich ploppie had been playing it for most of the day. He sat down and after putting in about 2k the box was full. Friend had to wait almost 2 hours at 2 am while they changed out the box. They kept telling him he probably shouldn’t wait because it’s going to take a while but obviously he wasn’t going anywhere, the machine had about 5k ev. Eventually he was able to play it but now knows to make slot tickets in a different machine and use those when playing large mhb.
I have no reason to believe your memory isn't accurate. I was just wondering how soon they started adding stuff like this after I had been accosted.Quote: billryanIt was during the 2001 World Series so October/November 2001. Most moden machies will hold a minimum of 1000 notes. If the box fills up the machine will just quit accepting them and usually shows a message similar to "cash box full".
Most casinos can perform what they call an "Emergency Drop". Just let the slot tech know if won't take anymore bills and they can ask for an Emergency Drop. Casinos do it regularly. It may take them some time but they can do it if they want.
