I nearly knocked over a poor old lady who had the temerity to cross my path while I was in a hurry to get to this goldmine.
And imagine my disappointment as I got close enough to see it was too good to be true.
Oh well!
Since I am certain no one would leave the machine like that I am quite certain its a false progressive amount.
wondering if it reset to 4999? Sign says DGE is investigating.

Sorry Darkoz, I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing WITH you. That would have been very cool if it was for real. Next time, buddy.
Always keep on looking, you never know maybe get lucky - for real this time. :)

I had never actually seen one of these jackpots hit, so I hovered and watch him play 40 cents a spin. While he was playing someone was getting some good line hits on a machine down the row, and they got up and left. He saw that that machine was free, so he got up and moved over.
I IMMEDIATELY sat down with the meter now at 48.92 and started playing at $2 a spin. About 5 spins in, I lined up the biggest symbol full screen on the first four reels, giving me a line hit of about $400. Obviously, I hit the smaller jackpot, but surprise, I got the big one too that was sitting at about $350. Total win about $800.
After it finished counting up and awarding my money, I hit cash out and got up to leave. I looked over and the older gentleman was sitting there arms crossed in front of him, GLARING at me, lol. I just left and cashed in my money!
I'm not sure but I doubt the casinos have the ability to configure the reset point since it would screw with the RTP.
Quote: smurgerburgerIf you actually found a 5k that was resetting to 4999 would your right to keep your winnings depend on whether it was a configuration error or a machine malfunction?

If they discovered the error prior to paying you, and the machine malfunctioned, they can certainly refuse to pay you.
Once you get paid I assume you're in the clear. I guess they could go after you civilly, I don't think they would win that(assuming it was a one-time thing on that machine).
If it was some type of human error that made it reset to that amount, you would probably win a gaming judgment in your favor. For example, the tech set the machine up incorrectly.
I'm not sure how gaming would react if the machine was left in some type of demonstration mode on the floor. I kind of think gaming would rule in your favor on that if it was a one-time thing. If you hit it over and over and got paid multiple times, but then they refuse to pay the last one. If took that situation to gaming I have a feeling they what rule against you.
All my experience with gaming including people I work with has actually been favorable except once maybe twice.
A lot might depend on what state you were in.
I think what we need is a census. How many of these Must Hit By machines are there and how many casinos have vultures who will be lining up?Quote: AxelWolfA lot might depend on what state you were in.
