Apparently in Canada, people on self-exclusion lists used to be able to keep jackpot winnings. This has changed. Self-exclusion lists don't work, aren't supposed to work. I think casinos intimidate people by banning them nationwide from ever admitting a problem. It's usually the case the casino too close to home is the real problem but people can't just be barred from that one, usually have to leave the entire state.
