Its been a frustrating time lately. I hit a really good decent hit on a $1 machine 2 credits for $900. (which is the highest I ever have hit). Almost everytime I am at the casino, someone has hit a handpay on a $1 machine.
Here is a question. For you guys that have hit a handpay on $1 machine (if multiple handpays, then how long between them), how many times going to the casino did it take you to get one? (lets say $500 bank roll or less) My personal bankroll is $200-$300. Beginners luck doesn't count (I hit a handpay on the first $100 the first time I ever played a $5 slot) and it took awhile to get the next. My theory is that you have to hit sometime, the more times you go the more likely you are to hit something because that amounts to more pushes you get to do.
I got to slow down going to the casino, but the last few times I went this year I did the following: Won $840, Lost $125, Lost $125, Even, Even, Won $158, Won $0.25 After the $900 $1 win I said I wouldn't play the $1 slots. Alot of these losses were from 25c machines. The $158 win was me going to the $1 slot after down $90 or so on 25c machines. I played 3x 4x 5x hit the double bar accross for $40 after putting $100 in and cashing out $140, then went to the 4x5x6x machine. It was eating me alive didn't get anything on the first $20. I said I was playing to $100 and cashing out. I hit bar bar bar once, Then hit double bar double bar 6x for $240 credits and cashed out $348 credits. After subtracting the $100 i put in. $248 ahead -$90 lost on 25c machines. The only reason I am playing the 25c machines is trying to hit a 1000X bet. $1 machines eat me alive quick if not doing well and too risky.
Anyway lets get to tonight. Tonight Took $10 free play put it into the double triple stars machine and ended up cashing out $10 after only getting 7's for 5x credits several times. I hit 10x cherry on the 10times pay for 100 credits and cashed out of that thing. They have alot of 3x4x5x machines that I didn't know about and I won on everyone of them but 1. I was up $26.50 with the freeplay at one point and then started using my money. Biggest wins I got on the night were 100 credits, 80 credits, 50 redits, 120 credits to fight my pay back. I don't think I am doing anything until I hit atleast 1 320 credit one. I first left being $9.75 down. I went grabbed a cookie went back up stairs and said I am going to try $20 into a $1 machine see what happens. It took me 2 3x4x5x machines to finally turn the $20 into $30 and got out there .25c up. Would that even be considered a win? WHat is the lowest that you ever came out and considered it a win? That to me is a draw.

Up .25 is still a win. It's not up much, but it's way better than the countless people who say,"I was up $1,000 and played all of my money back, including all of my bankroll which was $1,000 to begin with." So, they lost $2,000 instead of leaving ahead $1,000.

I used to donk away about $5000 a year in to slots because I am the type of person who is easily hypnotized. I would get a handpay like every 3 years or so. I can get hypnotized on video poker just as well and it seems to cost less..
Gambling is a metaphor for life. Hang around long enough and it's all gone.

When the M Resort initially opened, they had a formal policy that any major slot winner's card would be electronically put into a thirty minute repose so they could not gamble within thirty minutes of a major slot win. This forced them to relax, take a break, grab a bite to eat and think about their situation rather than plow it all right back into the machines.
Its probably a good policy to impose it on yourself. Once you are 'up' sufficiently.... get a meal comp and decide what you think is best.

I hit this $2500 on new years day. I'm pretty sure I heard that they had the machines turned up for the day though.

That's actually a great system! But you of course will have people who will get mad that "The casino is treating them like children, telling adults they cannot gamble anymore money for 30 minutes after a big slot win." They probably would just get around that by playing without their card or playing with a friend's card, defeating the purpose of helping the gambler hold on to their big slot win money longer.
