So this coming tuesday Hollywood St. Louis has a slot "tournament" coming up. Basically what this entails is that you earn 400 reward points and then you get entered in the "tournament" and they have drawings every hour with a top prize of $2,500 in free slot play. I'm pretty sure this is only for people who qualify for mail offers for the month of may, which I did. How hollywood does points is you get 1 point for every dollar spent on slots and one for every 2 dollars on video poker and keno. I feel like giving this tournament a shot and I'm pretty close to moving up to the next point tier anyway. My question is, if I feel like actually playing other stuff than slots/video poker (nothing pisses me off more than getting cleaned out on one single game, I like to bounce around and play 3 or 4 different things), what course should I take assuming my bankroll is about $100, and my goal is to earn 400 points and then being able to take a good portion of my bankroll for the day to a few table games? Video poker awards them at a slower rate but 100 bucks in a video poker machine will usually take you a lot further than 100 in a slot machine. Are there any slots known not to pay out a whole lot but not to take a whole lot either or does the actual casino set these parameters? I just want to earn my 400 points, sit at the Pai Gow Poker table, bet the minimum, watch the Cardinals game, and listen to the names get drawn. Anybody got a good course of action in mind?

Personally I think $100 is a pretty tight bankroll for earning 400 points. I would bring $200 for it and either play 9/6 JoB or 99.66% bonus poker for quarters ($1.25/hand). I usually play 500 points with 99.66% bonus. I have incurred three digit losses occasionally, but rarely over $200. Both of these games are on slant tops near an atm in the middle of the vp section.

Alternate hands, don't waste energy when reels are spinning and drink some coca cola 10-15 minutes before you play so you're high on caffeine and sugar when spinning.
