There was a chilling episode of the TV series House, called Remorse featuring a woman who is a psychopath. Wikipedia says a shocking 1% of the population are psychopaths.
The implication is that they are often intelligent people and can be very manipulative. Manipulation comes easily because they are incapable of empathizing with other people.
I was wondering if a clinical psychopath would make a good poker player?

I say yes. I suspect many payers, even good ones, play 'soft' against other players in certain circumstances (checking too often, not raising often enough, etc.). I think soft play comes up when players empathize with others, when someone is losing, or you make a connection with another player.
A psychopath who understood the game well could do better than most players

I am having trouble understanding this post... are you implying that there are poker players that are NOT psychopaths?
