The last I knew, the $1 = $1 standard occured in 1859.
As of 2020 The 1859 $1 is worth $33 in 2020.
That means that Gold has an inherent value of $660 of 2020 dollars.

I thought I saw $5 gold tokens at a $5 slot machine one time, but that was before TITO's.
Just go buy some poker chips online and create a buy-in map for the chips so you can play the home game. I used to play with 50 pennies per person, no other denomination allowed. My brother still flipped over the table when he busted out one time.
