for NLH.
It seems promising, but now that I know it when I am playing big stack poker I will adjust my call range for short stackers...seems like that small adjustment will negate the profitability...

Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? 😁

I'm assuming he means "Short Stack Strategy". He could also mean "Seek (out) Stupid Suckers", which is also a good strategy.
Short stack play involves concentrating on preflop action, and denying your opponents large implied odds as a way of protecting your hand, and in the larger sense, cutting down on variance. It's an effective strategy overall, if played correctly--it can also be kind of mind-numbing. In general, play becomes more complex as stacks get deeper, so a beginner might be well advised to play short stack poker if he feels he might be outclassed by the opposition.
The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality.---George Bernard Shaw

I was running as a trial at 0.25/0.5 NLH. Playing exactly as outlined at online poker school.
It is not going well.
Down 167 BB already...
Not sure if the table pastes correctly or not:
Stakes Hand Op Hand Op Hand 2 Result Pot
0.5 QQ K8 JT Loss 27
0.5 AK AA Loss 16.3
0.5 AK QQ Win 17.55
0.5 TT AA Loss 15.9
0.5 AQ AK Loss 17.35
0.5 88 77 Loss 24.35

Now I officially think I am running bad.
I've had 5 more showdown hands (where the money is in preflop or flop), lost 4, split 1.
Here is the bottom line based on EV of each hand vs. the pot:
BB I am supposed to lose: 21
BB lost: 330
I would say that this is WAY outside of normal variance, considering the fact that the max BB i can lose in a single hand is only 20.
Any math whizzes want to tell me how bad I am running or tell me that it is within normal scope and I am just a whiner?
