It's amazing what time can be completely wasted with insomnia. I created an engine in Microsoft SQL ( and an identical one in Oracle and BTW, Microsoft is 3 times faster ) that deals a ten hand table of Texas Hold'em. I give each hand a value based on the two hole cards and the community cards in the deal. For example, a Royal-SF is 101413121110, a regular straight flush is 9 then the rank of the top card and so on, 91211100908. Four of a kind is 8 plus the four of a kind plus the kicker, 81414141409 would be four aces and a 9 kicker. After 300,000 tables evaluated in about an hour, the four aces with a nine kicker came up 43 times. The absolute lowest hand in Texas Hold'em is Nine high, 09,08,07,05,04. This low hand comes up fairly rarely. The most common unique hand by far is an ace high straight which out-paces all of the other straights by 6 to 5.

But the most rare of the rare hands is four aces with a deuce kicker (any four of a kind of three or higher rank with a deuce kicker and four deuces with a three kicker are equally rare but less value). The only way to achieve that is to get four aces and three deuces. Which did finally appear on the 252,554th table.

There should be a special name for this extremely full house. What would you call it?

Hmmm....

I guess that WOULD be the rarest hand possible.

I have no name for it, but suggest you GET SOME SLEEP!

If the four aces are in the community cards then 'four aces with a deuce kicker' loses! That would totally blow chunks!

The only way that THAT would happen is if the board was four aces, and a deuce, and you're holding pocket deuces.

I'm not sure, but I think the odds of that happening are the same as the original scenario of holding pocket aces, and the board having AA222.

But you're right. That WOULD lose - and blow chunks!

You have 22

Your opponent has 34 off suit

Flop comes AA2, your opponent goes all in for $300 into a $4 pot, you call.

Turn: A
River: A

Could you imagine that?

After I finished tearing my hair out, I would kill my opponent for going all in with 34 off suit!

But he has a dead gut shot draw!

How could he NOT take that chance?
